This morning, the Dodge brand kicked off the 50th anniversary of the iconic Dodge Challenger nameplate with an unveiling of a new limited-edition Challenger 50th Anniversary at AutoMobility LA. While the top trim levels are usually the cars that are slated for special edition run, Dodge is making sure buyers of the GT RWD, R/T Shaker, R/T Scat Pack Shaker, and Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody owners can jump in on the fun too.
The Challenger 50th anniversary editions will be featured in colors such as: Frostbite, Hellraisin, and Sinamon Stick, TorRed, F8 Green, and Go ManGo.

Not sure what is so hard to figure out about this, but obviously they aren't celebrating 50 consecutive years in production, but rather the 50th anniversary of the first Challenger. People will bitch about anything anymore. Smh. Chevrolet did the same with the Camaro in 2017, it has a gap in production too. Not a big deal folks.

Dodge retired the Challenger back in 1974 and brought it back to production in 2008, while Chevrolet retired the Camaro back in 2002 along with the Firebird/Trans Am with the discontinuation of the F-body platform. Chevrolet later resumed production of the Camaro a decade later. Both cars are still going strong and selling well.

There are several 1970 references seen inside the interior of the 50th anniversary Challenger. Aside from the 50th logo embroidered on the seats, there is a 1970 Challenger on the HUD, the odometer reads 1970, and on the infotainment system, The Guess Who's 1970 song, American Woman is playing.

Those 50th anniversary widebody challengers are my favorite of all the styles. The interior looks amazing, but the added cost to add the widebody then the shaker package and on top of both the 50th anniversary package plus options would of made this car extremely expensive. I see the exact one with the gold rush color driving around sometimes. When I take delivery of my 21 challenger ta 392 widebody I’m definitely going to wave him down and take a look at it. As far as I'm concerned the only plus is the shaker hood. The flat black hood , roof, etc. you can have. That said just get the model of your choice a with the shaker hood and save some $$$.

You are absolutely right! Not only the taillights. But, the front grille wasn't split in half in the 1970, Challenger. To add insult to injury, they added a 1970 Challenger, in the instrument panel.

THE 392 IS 475 HORSES WITHOUT THE SUPER CHARGER. I.E. SCAT PACK R/T FROM THE FACTORY. BUT THE ADVANTAGE THE CHALLENGER HAS OVER THE OTHER CARS IS THAT IT'S ROOMY AND HAS LOTS OF USABLE SPACE. MORE COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE IN TOO. I DON'T THINK THE CAMAROS OR MUSTANGS ARE NEAR THE 4,000 LB MARK PERHAPS SOMETHING LIKE 3,800 LBS.

XXX well if you want to be exact it’s “485” for 392 , avg whp 430-450 bone stock. By no means a slouch, and yes the other two are weighing very close to the lx and lc aka charger and Challenger. And roomy in a Challenger yeah for two adults and no rear passengers unless your short person sitting in the steering wheel and dash lol. Again they weight close and make within the same power , what makes the 5.0 quicker is it’s new 10 speed auto (yup manuals are slow ).

@@johndillinger8482 agreed I've never liked the wide body it makes the car look kinda weird because the original challenger's never had that look even though it's actually made into the fender it looks like a after market add on the lines are not sim less the body lines and fender contour is not visually blended into one piece. I love the challenger's retro look but only with the narrow bodied cars.
