I got Blysca from the black crates. Bless RNG because Swirsky came with. Nice to see you review one of our honorable DDs! Asashio was the in-between historically of Shiratsuyu and Kagero. Almost like a T6 Kagero. Also those “pimples” on the camo was an actual design (just not in that color). I think...Katori has a camo like that if you search up “IJN Katori Camo” on Google. Seriously, Akatsuki is way better. But you didn’t mention that Shiratsuyu is ALSO way better. I run it with Heihachiro and get THREE torp reload boosters. I recommend you make a video trying out Shiratsuyu with Heihachiro. It offers a more dangerous playstyle, both for you, and the enemy team!

The Camo is loosely based on the unique scheme on the seaplane tender Akitsushima. I like the Asashio but I use Kurita - the guns are better and you have RDF. Double stealth build allows you to get the sides of BBs to use the torps better. You have to be close in so measured aggression - pick your fights. When engaging DDs turn away to be as narrow as possible. Open the distance and keep dancing on the rudder (Small moves to just change your angle slightly - full tactical retreat) and just use the two rear turrets (They stay on target better with Kurita I think). The guns are more accurate that US and German and better grouped than French. Akatsuki is better but Asashio earns more. Cheers Chris

If you use Generic Commander your Torpedo Range goes down to 10 km but you get +1 on All Consumables, On my build, Concealment is the same as i don't use Fragile Threat. This is a ok ship and got it last Xmas Event, Not for free but didn't have to spend much to get it.

Had a match in my BB yesterday and lost a match cause i left a destroyer with so little health a HE shell near him would do it but he captured bases and won on points knowing i couldn't catch up

I love this thing, so far. Only played a few games but got 2 kills in each - running R11.1 Raizo, with R11.1 Bey and R9.1 Swerzky, the detection range is 4.9km. I personally like these guns, being that it gets 6 lol - I don't shoot a lot with Japanese DDs so I don't mind the trash turret rotation at all, tbh Haven't passed the Hatsuharu, yet, but the only other line I've finished to compare with is for the Z-23 and the differences across the board are insane at each tier.....

General DD tip. Try to shoots torps as close as possible. You have absolutely nuts 4.6km detection range. Play around 5km and torp from there and I guarantee the torp sweep is tight,.

Swop commander out for Helsinger or the japanese Dewey you get two reload boosters and three engine boosts makes the ship more enjoyable...i have had the ship since it original came out iand i like it

Asashio is suppose to have deep water torps. On PC you can't kill enemy dds with its torps, If im correct and some light cruisers. You gotta try to save your reload booster. With these quads only fire one towards an enemy.

Nice vid Spartan recently got this ship too but haven’t played her much cuz I don’t have spare credits for my upcoming ships but I have a question.I was looking at getting the Tirpitz and was going to use Cilliax for my commander.I have looked at some of your older Tirpitz builds but I didn’t see one with Cilliax, so is he a good commander for her cuz I know compared to the Bismarck her secondary’s are toned down to balance with torps but I was just wondering for Cilliax’s second skill how long the range is on the secondary’s and the main batteries with a mixed primary and secondary turret build.For my inspirations I’m using William Sims and Andrew Cunningham.It’s a lot to ask if you could just check for me please because I don’t want to waste 750k global Xp to find out I’ve trash primary’s and secondaries!thanks again for the content

Generally, Japanese pronunciation doesn't emphasize any one syllable over the others...so the tier 7 battleship a-MAH-gi is really pronounced A-MA-GI...with equal emphasis on each. One effect of this is to make each word sound really fast...and Japanese is a fast language. Akatsuki is not ah-kat-SOO-ki, but AH-KAT-SOO-KI...said really fast, the "soo" kinda blends in, and so you hear "Akatski"...

You should be happy that this isn't the asashio WOWS PC has. On PC, the asashio has one major problem that litterly kills the usability of the ship, that being its "deep water" torpedoes. These torpedoes can only hit Battleships and carriers. Any other shiptype will just sail over them. If this gets implemented if (and when) carriers are released, the asashio is not worth it.

Yeah the Deep water torps would be a killer on Legends because sure they are sneaky but they can't hit cruisers or dds

The usual destroyer player on legends gets into knife fights and usually whoever gets the first torpedo of wins it. Anyone who plays asashio would be screwed if the deep water torps were a thing in legends. For now at least, they ain't and hopefully that will remain the case

In feel like this ship would be better if you could get skills like last stand and extra consumables in tandem like in the pc version. As someone who got into the console version because I watched pc gameplay but have a craptop, this ship disappoints me hugely because it’s missing a lot that makes it better on the PC, such as 15km or 20km range torpedos. Being able to run superintendent, last stand and adrenaline rush at the same time. Without these options the ship feels incredibly mediocre

Kagero has worse torps. Also.. every japanese destroyer has bad torps. The ships are stealthy, but they have the highest visability range. UK and german destroyers are much better. Better hp, better guns, better torps and almost as stealthy as japanese destroyers.

The premiums are money makers. They SHOULDN'T be better in every way than their tech tree counter parts. That would be shit design, right Wargaming? To compensate the bad turret rotation I use the rudder shift mod. And to hit the battleship with the torpedoes, I don't launch every salvo from the front. :D
