Kudos for making such a great sales video in what really was a short amount of time... and including the prices of the base boat as well as with options when most treat it as a secret only to be divulged in private. Unfortunately I’m in Australia but only because that means buying local otherwise very fortunate to be able to sail and ride year round, I couldn’t imagine having to pack things up because of seasons. Having recently inspected a 1988 Oceanis 35 which is really only 33’ it’s amazing how different modern technology makes such a similar boat so different.

Very nice tour. Great 30ft. Reminds me of my old 30 Catalina in some ways, except for the cockpit (can you imagine that is the spacious open cockpit of only a 30ft!!!)

Really nice walk-through. Beginning sailor here. I saw this model in person today, and only two things about it really cause me concern: (1) Space between the wheel(s) and end of boat is really super tight, even for a small person. (2) It's a long way from the helm to the mainsheet. Other than that, super duper & love it. Can't wait to see detail on the new 34.1, if it solves any of that or just makes the party side of the cockpit even sexier. Hmm. Disclaimer: I'm just a lowly ASA 101 at this point, ha.

Hi LK C.....I bought a 30.1 this year and found no problem re the space between wheels and stern. It is very comfortable to sit on the coaming ensconced in the stern pulpits on either side (I am 5'10" and 195 lbs). I was also concerned about leaving the helm to trim the main but found it easy to redirect the main sheet to the unused primary winch (trim the jib on the low side and the main on the high side - works wonderfully for singlehanded sailing). Way from the helm to the mainsheet: there is optionally the "German Mainsheet System" available. With this feature, the main can be handeled from the helm.

in mast furling = NO NO ! VERY nice interior ! Engine compartment IS a compromise, but they all are ! The test is this : how hard would it be to remove & replace the engine ? It is a very capable boat & very glad to know that in mast furling is an option !

Why didn't you show us the aft sleeping quarters? I was just curious about the bed space. The big boat features in a less lengthy package makes for a smart choice especially when it comes to slip fees and looks to be ridiculously easy to handle. Thanks for your practical presentation. If I hit it rich this is all I would do. Move to San Diego, buy the 38' vereion of this and just sail sail sail. And drink, and smoke weed. Then dinner and drinks at the yacht club. Uber it home, shower, more weed at sunset. Sleep, wake up with tall iced Irish coffee, a little something to clear the sinuses and back to the boat to read the paper and get organized.

I’d be too afraid of standing at the helm and taking a step backwards. Not much room between the wheel and the water. I thought I saw a lifeline going across the back at the end of the video, but still. Small kids and dogs can be lost easy. Or drop a cell phone and it’s gone. Boat looks sharp otherwise.

Nice enough but, It's not 30' it's 31. The windage from that monstrous Bimini will be horrendous and it has in-mast furling so definitely not a performance boat.

Does this boat really only have a 15 horsepower Yanmar as you stated at the 3:35 minute section of this video? Sounds underpowered for a 9000 pound displacement boat.

Not really. I have a 9.6m with a 2gm20f. Depending who you ask, it's rated 16 or 20 hp. Replaced the original volvo with 10hp. The 10 was enough, but the 20 can run lower rpm for the same speed.

You can get it with a 15 HP or a 21 HP. Mine has the 21 HP and it pushes the boat along quite nicely. The 15 HP is rated for inland waterways only I believe (or some similar verbage).

I had a 2000 461 with transparent sliders in companionway. It’s nice for light, privacy not an issue for guests but for people on pier. I just hung towel on vertical piece. Beneteau boats are actually fast and agile and do everything well. But I detest Yemin helms and tillers and no place to sit while steering.

This is a great boat form coastal or island hopping but it is not and should never ever be called a "performance cruiser" or in anyway suggested that it can 'cruise", as in go blue water!! Come on Beneteau - don't just try to tick ever box. This is a terrific little weekender and short passage boat. But it has twin-rudders, totally unprotected by even a keel, its got a desk stepped mast and worst of all a bolt on keel. Nobody should consider this boat if they want to cross an ocean.
