I saw a Kansas dev-struck an Odin in 1 salvo, within 2 minutes of the game starting. Someone hit the home run score in that match and left with a first blood award, among other awards.

I agree this ship looks amazing with this build but yet again I have been doing secondary builds before secondary commanders were introduced and my Bismarck gets ridiculous accurate long secondary range with it's current build.

Hi Spartan, I just unlocked the Brandenburg myself. I reckon it’s a great ship. I’ve got it to work really well with a full secondary build with a 16 point Captain and legendary level 2 Ciliax. With my buff’s I wouldn’t say the main batteries are underwhelming but… I totally agree with the lengthy reload. If you throw enough shit at the wall some of it is going to stick. Lol. Bought the T5 Huanghe..if the Brandenburg is a meme ship..then the Huanghe will tickle you..Torp reload booster..decent reload..good torp range..dropped my concealment to 9.2..And a funky sputter smoke generator that stays on forever..similar to rolling smoke, just at a slow rate. Weird ship.

Great video as usual. I did the unthinkable and removed Hyde from my build to try something a bit different to make the Brandenburg more competitive. I figured if the Brandenburg is supposed to have good secondaries then Hipper might be the way to go since that’s his specialty, right? And I have him at 16/3 so why not give it a go… I initially installed Hipper as the primary with Cunningham & di Revel. I still didn’t like the turret speed, so….I removed Cunningham and replaced him with Charles Madden which improved the turret speed but also the reload further down to 22 seconds which is much, much better. I set up Hipper with that extra buff to the secondaries in the 4th slot as well to max out their potential. And I switched Will To Rebuild to Fight Fire With Fire instead. So far, this ship has performed very, very well for me. It’s definitely on the tank-ee side of things, and the 305’s are proving to be very effective against all classes, however I do switch between HE & AP as needed to keep them productive. I’m liking the Brandenburg. I agree with Spartan regarding the fun factor. It’s a lot of fun to play. Granted, I’m rather partial to the German BB’s but that’s just me.

So how I can see one of the many ship builds being just a super heavy cruiser with great secondaries, and played with almost permanent HE and with its speed it could be almost a destroyer and cruiser hunter the only problem would be at concealment but with the speed steering and good armor you could bow tank battleship shells and utilize island cover if needed

I use Ciliax with Von Hipper and Cunningham/Scharnhorst(I rotate them). I set my Bismarck to a full secondary build with the secondary upgrade, porcupine, and Hipper helping lets me start the pain at 10km+. Plus my main guns are more accurate at that range and I’m not trying to snipe in a ship equivalent of a shotgun.

I run a accuracy build with ap damage increase (german commander) and ruced reload time (italian commander) on bradenburg. The guns are seriously accurate and are not low dpm at all. They slap.

I do run a accuracy build on this. I do not rely on torps, they are a last defence. And the secondaries are good as they are, no need to run a secondary build. Good luck and gods speed to any destroyer that gets too close. I run they german captain for accuracy build with the german commander for ap damage and the italian commander for main battery reload. My guns have a 19km accurate range with 22sec reload, and they do slap. Hitting battleships for 18k no citadels is not a low dpm. Its easily better than the bismarck.

@@seanrioux3958 yes brandenburg is absolutely crazy. The range and accuracy on the main guns are deadly, even if they are lower caliber, it does have a extra turret. Removing cruisers in a single salvo is very likely, and hitting battleships for 20k and up also. I love my build, i have nothing invested in the secondaries. All main guns, and i love this ship. Im a solo player.. First game i got 140k damage, all games were like that except for 1 where my team died and i was up against 5 remaining ships. Still killed 2 of those haha.

This ship looks almost as annoying to play as it is to play against. It's practically immune to citadels but struggles to citadel anything so, in my experience, most times I run into these it turns into a slow slough of attrition while avoiding torps.

I dont know I have been citadelling Brandenburgs more than any other German Battleship. I feel like their turtleback isnt quite as effective

@@SpartanElite43 What ship are you using? I assume mostly Iowa/Kansas? For me, anything less than 18in shells from my Yami (when WG lets her hit the broadside of a Brandenburg, they really screwed poor Yamato up) tend to bounce or just do normal penetration damage against anything with a German flag and BB next to it's name. Once in a blue moon I'll get one near max range but that's it. I don't recall ever citing a high teir german bb medium to close range with the exception of catching Bismarck through the cheek.

I run Hyde with Scharnhorst and Cunningham I also run alidad I spec’d more for the main battery and it does wonders I’ve hit Yamato’s for 15-20k and ive also hit cruisers for upwards of 40k damage this thi for being 305’s hits like a truck if you know where and how to aim I 1v1 a GK and deleted him

Maybe a little. I don't find planes that oppressive. They're more like a nuisance at least at lower to mid tier. imo, from most powerful to least powerful ship type in Legends right now it goes: Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships, Aircraft Carriers so the way I think carriers ought to be played, because they're so weak in terms of damage output most of the time esp at lower tier, is like 80% utility, 20% damage. By that I mean use your planes for scouting/spotting (especially if there are a lot of destroyers) especially early on in the match and then transition to support/harassments - set fires or floods, try to use your torp planes to get battleships and cruisers to turn broadside to your team to give them a chance to smack them. More so than any other ship type, you need to be looking at the whole map all the time and deciding where your team needs you the most. To be really good at CV's probably takes the most skill next to BB's.

Keep in mind it had 32sec reload, 28knt speed and 5km secondary range; before it was buffed. And the reload is still not good.

It makes sense to me. Brandenburg is a Tirpitz with Odin guns. If you don't consider the caliber, it's like you would give a Tirpitz 20sec reload base on the main batteries... It would be a bit broken. It is indeed a high reload for that caliber, but it's understandable.

It trades the extra 305mm turret for a slightly longer reload. But you can still get that reload to about 20sec

Bruh i think is hella unfair comparing german bbs with anything else, those things are the kings of cqc sure their guns are funny but they are playing a different game than most of others bbs, on the comparison to the Iwoa, man, if bradenburg goes on a 1v1 against an Iowa in ranked, i dont think that the Iwoa has a chance, all the bradenburg have to do is load he, and move foward, if the main battery or secondaries dont kill the iwoa the fires or torpedos will, meanwhile the armor on the bradenburg is as good as the odin, so i dunno if the Iwoa have a realistic chance on this 1v1 and the thing is, i like american bbs and i got my shit pushed in so many times bt tirpitz and odins, it aint even funny.

I know Tirpiz is so tough that it survived a flat broadside from my Yamato In a match from about 8km with it not even quite taking him down to half health. If that had been even another Yamato or, god help them, something like an Iowa, would have been citadel city, probably sent back to port. It stood out to me because I was thinking in the moment leading up to the shot, okay, I've got the biggest guns in the game. Not even German turtle back will survive thi....f*ck, really?!

@@DEATHRAGE157 I'm just agreeing how near god-tier german armor can be. It saved that player who decided to sail flat broadside to a Yamato. There isn't much that can survive a close encounter with a Yamato while giving her your broadside including even another Yamato. I have first hand experienced this.
