A working conservatism is one that maintain the dynamics in a society that it continues to work in a more or less fashion without painful disruption to the stakeholders, while allowing for continuous trials and errors that do not have immediate systemic impacts, negative or positive, to address public issues. Ideally, there is the mechanism for curbing rent seeking, such that those have more does not continue to have more just because the had more. Conservatism with the above interpretation should focus on uniting and incremental improvement, and not on splitting and disruption. Who focus on splitting citizens into groups? Instill hatred and anger? Promote civil war? Extremists, fundamentalists, authoritarian regimes, revolutionaries, opportunists do, regardless how they label themselves and which umbrella they are under... real conservatism won't do these.

The modern "splitting citizens into groups" strategy they've adopted is a direct copy of Vladislav Surkov's when he was Vladimir Putin political strategist. Worked reasonably well in the US, hasn't done as well over here. Although the Tories acting like this really isn't new thing though, Thatcher's rhetoric was pretty extreme and divisive to be honest. It just gets significantly worse when they are threatened. It's a move a desperation, all the while they are screaming at top volume that they are the "silent majority". It's beyond parody, especially in the US, the reality is that new technology and the Tories inability to adapt will leave them left behind and split until they do.

I live now in Spain, and also heard a few days ago a debate of affairs in the US and Germany ... The consensus is that the global right/conservatives is afraid of its nuclear values. It has tried to morph into a center-leftist with the dream of courting new voters, while alienating their traditional voting base. Leftist are less prone to change vote. And when the right/conservatives reach power they fear tearing down even measures put in place by the former left/socialist/labor government, in spite of even having promised during the elections. They live in the mirage of being nice with the leftist opposition, while these are tuthless when they reach power, even in the USA. The power of the left as said in the video, is that the left infiltrates and colludes unilaterally all the positions of institutions. Unless appointed by consensus, then they were placed on ideological motives, so they should go. Here in Spain, the conservatives have left the socio-eco-comunists snatch them the control of the Constitutional Court. In the past, many decisions were debatable ... but now it is so obscene and pro-party/government that it is referred to as the "Prostitutional Court" ... I've always debated between left and right ideals. It's like I can't make up my mind. It's like it's a bitter debate between idealism and realism. While ideals can become reality, and sometimes the ideal is better than reality, reality is still reality, and often protects people from the consequences of unchecked power. In a historical sense the Conservative Party is conservative in the sense that it seeks to preserve classic liberalism. Even Burke and Scruton were liberals in the classic sense. However, the Conservative Party bears little resemblance to the Tory party which proposed a co-existence between the free market, the individual liberties, and an active state and community looking to fulfill the roles of caregiver to the less deserving, to ensure a proper wealth waterfall (not redistribution), the reality of the matter is that both capitalism and socialism have both failed at providing a solution to the many issues most countries face today. Maybe the Conservative Party should go back to its true roots and generate a true conservative agenda for the rest of the conservatives of the world to follow. We are not greedy capitalist pigs, we all wants a better world, where we can have families and thrive, free from the liberal agenda which is product of both socialist agenda and predatory capitalism. Adam Smith himself in his Theory of Moral Sentments talks more about these matters and even resembles a humanist or scholastic from Salamanca

I think the conservative party might perform better in 2024 if they introduce a profit cap on energy compangnies in order to curb inflation and reducing legal immigration to the ten of thousands. 2:34 i actually disagree, look at the election results in Italy, Sweden, Hungary. Two conservative party are on the on top in opinion polls in Belgium for the 2024 federal election, the N-VA and the VB, however the later is more of a far-right party. Marine Le Pen would win the french presidential elections.

Conservatives have been in power for a long time now, so they could have done what is necessary. Yet noting has been done apart from great damage. Focussing on small boats, instead of the millions coming as encouraged by the Tories is a grave mistake. There is need for doctors, nurses, house building and proper public services in line with the growth of the population, which is completely neglected in favour of made-up problems. It also does not help bringing up the economy every every time the Tories try to ruin it. Labour at this point is much more sensible, I dare say hold more conservative values than the conservatives.
