The point about acknowledging peoples feelings is so important, it's so easy (as many do) to just shout someone down because you don't agree with their opinion, it's another thing to engage with them and show them the other side of the coin. If people spent more time trying to understand why people think differently from them instead of simply denouncing them for holding different views I'm willing to bet we would find solutions to the issues we face much more effectively.

I have the utmost respect for Rep. Gwen Moore, obviously a lady of grace and intelligence. Not too many people (in view of MTG's poor behavior, total lack of respect and decorum due her political office), would dream sitting next to her! I really hope that people see this interview, and listen closely to what she had to say regarding the "human side" of the woman. In the currant political climate, all the public seems hear are biased, demonized reports about one political party or the opposing side (highlighting the BAD actors). Maybe we have been conditioned to take sides, and irrationally block out any outside positive or neutral information? I've always hated politics. Even as a kid it seemed like dirty business as I listened to adults heatedly argue about it. That opinion began to "metastasize" in 2016 when someone with no political experience or education... stepped into ill-fitting shoes. We should all be on our knees... praying for God's will, not ours, because not a one of us will ever be His councilor.

I’m wht and I believe that we should make a habit of joining (with humility) things like the Selma march. I am learning _so much_ just joining the George Floyd protests in 2020 and the continued movement to remove our nasty Confederate statues. In particular, talking to the older generation about their experiences is really eye-opening. Then one lives the current experience while standing with whatever group is demonstrating. Yeah, that really shifted my perspective. And I was _already_ radical in principle.
