The college I attended didn't require essays in the application process, just a lot of background information. My GPA in high school was 1.2. Normally, that's not even enough to graduate, but I got called into the Assistant Principal's office and he explained that, because I wasn't a discipline problem, and he knows my dad (I think they went to college together or some shit), they were going to let me graduate anyway. Obviously, I didn't apply to get into any colleges right away. After high school, I attended a trade school and worked in the field for a few years, then came a recession and I couldn't get a job. Hello, US Army! I spent four years on active duty and managed to impress the hell out of a lot of my superiors. They all suggested that I go to school and do something with my life. So, before I was released, I applied to a school near my grandparent's house so I would have a place to live while attending. While I was in the service, my parents divorced, remarried (to other people), and moved away from my home town, so technically I had no home. I really didn't think they would accept me. But, it turns out, if you have four years of military discipline and a shit pile of Army College Fund money, they'll say Yes! I got a four year degree in three years with a 3.89 GPA. Yay me!

Second thread about the things women have overlooked in the dating phase. my husband and I met in highschool, it took a ton of convincing for me meet him outside of school, I was NOT interested. Well anyway he gets off work and it's like 11pm and ive already gotten ready for bed when he texts me and asked if I'll meet him in front of my house just to hang out for a bit before he goes home. So I begrudgingly agree and shuffle my way outside in sweats and a baggy shirt, again ready to go to bed. I walk up to him and first thing he does is announce "you're not wearing a bra!" And flap my boobs with both hands. 🤦‍♀️ Still can't believe I didn't turn tail and go back inside right then and there 🤣 we weren't even dating at the time. We ended up talking till 5am, and kissing. Been together 8 years now and have 2 kids together 🥰 he still does the same thing when I'm not wearing a bra 🤦‍♀️🤣

Rereading my scholarship application essay, it was total garbage. It was ridiculous content that I thought would be creative and entertain whoever was reading it. I got the scholarship. My mom was shocked, I am too.
