I am having an issue with the EG4 Hybrid Split AC i bought last year. I contacted the vender that sold it to me and they stated they were aware but do not have a fix. the issue is that when I have a clear sunny day, my unit is not pulling power (watts) from the PV array. If I turn off the breaker then the unit switches over to the power from the PV array, but as soon as I turn of the breaker it switches back to AC power. I have 6- 200watt 24 volt panels connected in series to the unit. In addition I noticed this moring that, while my return tempature is at 71 degrees F, and my set point is at 74 degrees F, the unit is still pulling 500 watts of power. For the last year when this is the case it only pulled 40 watts of power.

Why don't EG4 seek approval to have Lifepower4 batteries to work in closed circuit with Sol-ARk? Sol-Ark states any work around would void the warranty

so I have a eg4 6500 hybrid inverter charger for 120vac. But eventually I want 240vac for charging a Tesla car. Do I buy another 6500 or the eg4 18kv ???

The 6500EX is a supported legacy product so while we still provide technical support and the like, the product is no longer sold by our official distributors. If you purchased through Signature Solar, there is a special discount upgrade program that could get you a discount on the 18kPV by trading in your 6500EX. I'd recommend getting an 18kPV, as we've improved its feature set greatly based on customer experiences with the -EX series. Otherwise, you'd have to find a outside source for getting another 6500EX (likely secondhand or refurbished).
