Mike Stavenes Money pays for massive amounts of advertising. But much of it is frittered away on things like hotel bookings, private jets, campaign workers, office space, venue bookings for rallies, and (my favorite) buying up copies of the candidates ghostwritten autobiography in bulk to give out to campaign supporters (at full cost) and all the authors royalties go directly back to the candidate.

If money always buys elections, then how did Obama win? And, why did Jeb Bush only get 5% of the vote? Obviously, no amount of money can buy an election when the ideas of a candidate are not acceptable or the candidate is unelectable. And, is it possible that businesses support free enterprise candidates? For those that know some of these candidates for decades, they know these candidate's ideology was in place far before the money poured in. The real question, does the money change them or their allegiance to their ideology.
