As a type 1 diabetic on Basaglar who's struggled with the incomplete 24 hour period of activity it gives but didn't realize it, this was an extremely helpful and informative video. I just wish it took less than two minutes for you to get to the information! You don't have to goad my ego to get me to watch this, just tell me it's going to be a lot of information and get into it.

I am a foreign graduate pharmacist preparing for the US pharmacy board exam. Watching all of your videos is a prayer answered to simplify and clearly explain complicated diabetes medications. I can not thank you enough! Please keep it up and up and up! Best regards,

Was on Lantus, had to split dose, now on Levemir, just 1 dose/day. Maybe because I am exercising and mostly eating low carb. Will ask for Tresiba during next appointment.

do you use bolus insulins or only Lantus/Levemir...as my son covers all needs only with single daily shoot of Lantus (only 2ml so far D1T)

You seems a voided lantus, that is good, do you know that glargine molecules ( lantus) can invite cancer which is an unexpected guests in your lifetime . not uncommon

I just started Lantus 2 weeks ago. I can say my numbers are coming down well, but I’m still having issues around mealtimes. Does it take a while for Lantus to kick in? Does it really last for 24 hours?
@sugarhighchannel3 жыл бұрын
Lantus is supposed to last 24 hours but really only makes it to around 18-20 hours. It won’t me able to cover for meals; it’s meant to be a background insulin.
@orthodoxserb6596 Жыл бұрын
@@sugarhighchannel my son (D1T) started using only lantus and it covers everything - we started with 10ml but we had to reduce it to only 2ml a day, mealtime spike is covered as well with Lantus - spike goes up to 170 but then goes down fast, I am suspecting in some remission as what happens now does not have logic

Hi David. I'm a Type 2 diabetic but I'm "underweight ". Will taking insulin "help" me to "regain" my weight back? Your response is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How did you get rid of the fire so quickly at 2:55 ?
@sugarhighchannel4 жыл бұрын
It was flash paper. It burns really fast and leaves no ash behind. I ordered it from an online magician shop for that demonstration. Did you stay to the end of the video for the bloopers? 😉

Very informative. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to speak just a tad slower. I had to stop video and go back to make sure of a couple things like Hypo and Hyper among other portions. Overall I'll give you a grade of 95%. Thanks.

Hello, I have a question, when giving Lantus are you not supposed to hold this type of insulin? What if the blood sugar reading is within normal range or slightly low? Are you still suppose to administer this type of insulin? Thank you in advance.

Hi Sugar High I been loving your videos I love how you demonstrate the difference on the subject you are talking about. Also I love your energy and enthusiasm as you talk about diabetes it keep me attentive. I was wondering can you do a video about the difference between xultophy vs soliqua. Thank you so much for your videos love them.

the video is amazing.. im really grateful for this explanation.. thanks alot. will love to get the toujeo insulin .. im in nigeria , any tip on how i can get it?
@sugarhighchannel4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I really don't know anything about the Nigerian health system. I would start with a conversation with your physician about what insulin therapy would be best for you based on your own personal needs and what is available in your local area..

I have a question. Why people with T2D given medicines rather than insulin? Why take medicines and get side effects while insulin can work the best.
@Una2Cold Жыл бұрын
I imagine because one you jump on the insulin train it’s a slippery slope. Your body starts to get more and more accustomed to not having to produce its own insulin (even if it wasn’t much before, it’s still producing some) and then will eventually stop completely. Where as type 2’s who can alter their lifestyle and eating habits might never have to jump on that train if they are serious about their condition

Love these videos. Does using insulin usually cause weight gain?
@sugarhighchannel4 жыл бұрын
Nancy O'connell Yup. Since insulin allows sugar to get into fat cells, it can allow weight gain.

You have excellent videos - love your explanations, However, that music in the background makes it hard to concentrate on what you’re saying. I know it’s pretty soft, but it’s still distracting.
