MODY 4 here. I was dx'd because we found I have mitochondrial complex I deficiency after decades of mystery illnesses, including cyclic vomiting syndrome, chronic elevated lactic acid and ammonia, etc. Found out later that MODY 1, 3 and 4 are well documented to cause mitochondrial dysfunction.

Are your insurances all paying for the medication. I was feeling pretty bad about having to pay $76 per month until I heard that the medication cost is $800-$1,000. After hearing this, $76 didn’t sound so bad.

I'm type 2 diabetic and on metformin prescribed by my doctor. I have bought rybelsus privately and have been using it for around 4 months. I've lost over 2 stone in weight and zero side effects. Should I keep taking my metformin alongside it or stop? I have a diabetes check up in a couple of weeks but I feel like I may have reversed it with the rybelsus

false low to me, is from caffeine addiction/crashing. when my blood sugar is actually low, i have an appetite, and i feel happy and imagine the food i want, and that is rare. I'm rarely ever actually low. These bad feelings are from caffeine + also i believe stomach acidity.

I’m LADA & have had 3 consecutive days of lows through OMNIPOD 5G in tandem w/G7. I did not feel the 3rd hypoglycemic episode till it got to 40. It took 8oz of OJ, 15 minutes later a coffee cake square, & 15 minutes later 3 twizzlers to come back up to 70 I do have the basqimi on hand the nasal glycogen but it makes me siiiiiiiiiiick for a good 3 days…

I was diagnosed with diabetes at 29 years of age. I’m 62 now. I was not over weight back then. Within 3 months I was on insulin but my doctors kept labeling me as T2 & putting me not just insulin but the typical T2 meds. My mother was T1 from the age of 14 in the late 40’s till she passed in ‘86 at the age of 50 from complications. In 2012 my PMD when I was living & working in Virginia did blood work & then labeled me as LADA. I eventually moved to NYS & my doctors here labeled me back as T2, even though my symptoms say otherwise. Lately I’m having issues with several hypoglycemic episodes for 3 consecutive days below 55. I’m on an insulin pump. My endo did do blood tests recently and his diabetic educator said I’m LADA but that they keep me labeled as T2 for insurance purposes because my endo insists I be on mounjaro even though it does nothing for me even at the highest dose other than throw me into ketoacidosis for which I then have to be hospitalized so sick sick of all this

Fyi: I've been on trulicity for approximately a year now. I've lost weight & my A1C is 6.0. I'm also on metformin & glimperide, which my doctor recently decreased because I was experiencing low blood sugars. I've been feeling dizzy for the last couple of months & it's very difficult for me to get through the day. Idk what's if it's the trulicity or what. But I tried not taking it one week & my sugar level was high, i took the trulicity & it went back to normal. My doctor has to do something about how I've been feeling because i can't go on like this. Pray for me, guys.👏🏿

Yes, have a question on the Trulicity: on the NIH website there was a person who had developed a "stomach ache" which turned out to be a blockage of the small bowel. How common is this and was there any info for the % of those who may have experienced this for rest of us?

For the first time in my life (outside of the ER), a doctor tested my BG, which was part of their routine well check exam. My non-fasting BG was 50. I had eaten a snack in the waiting room approximately 20 mins before the blood test. My A1C came back as 4.8. My PCP had me come back to test 6 months later, with a 67 non-fasting BG. I’m a non-diabetic, no alcohol for over 4 years, and do not take medications that lower blood sugar. I’ve had dizzy spells that resolve with a carb-rich snack since I was a child. I have intense sweating and shakiness in the morning that resolves in about 15 minutes after breakfast. I could go on. Essentially, I have the “Whipple Triad,” but I don’t know what’s causing this & I want to find out. What additional tests should I request to investigate the cause? Everything I can find is talking about diabetes and low blood sugar being “rare” outside of diabetes. Also seeing tons of stuff about reactive hypoglycemia, which is not what I’m experiencing. I don’t have a high carbohydrate diet and eat healthy, exercise regularly, the whole works. What am I dealing with?
@PSY-RENN
@PSY-RENN 21 күн бұрын
I want to add that my PCP prescribed Metformin from the 1st test to the 2nd test, so she was encouraged that my non-fasting BG went up after 6 months on Metformin. It is still clinically low though. I also have far fewer hunger episodes and rarely ever have sugar cravings now. However, I’m still struggling with the hypo symptoms on a daily basis.

Bro, i thought i was going crazy. I've seen my primary, 2 ENT, allergist, cardiologist, gastroenterologist. All told me it was anxiety. Finally 1 general practitioner told me to make a diet diary. I noticed right away that eating sugar (candy, bread, erc)made me feel better but i was like "this cant be good either". Luckly my A1C is below prediabetic, so im not diabetic. I bought CGM and it changed my life. I found out that there were specific foods that were spiking my glucose and so i was avoiding them. This is where i started to feel worse, probably because my body was used to high glucose. This video completly said the truth. When (fake) hypoglycemia hits me i used to eat high carbs, then once i used CGM i ated little carbs just to take the edge off ( its likes drugs or something). There was an episode where i was going through a fake hypoglycemia (my sugar was 110) and i was stuck in traffic on the passenger seat. I thought i was going to black out. After half an hour of this horrible feeling, it all went away like it was nothing. Poof gone. Then i actually felt hungry but no urge for sugar. Crazy how the body works. I'll be buying apples and peanut butter. Thank you for this video.

Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm wondering about nocturnal hypo in someone who is not living with diabetes but might have insulin resistant.

Hi. If there are actual, measured episodes of hypoglycemia in a non-diabetic person (who would presumably not be on any medication that would explain/cause the hypoglycemia), I’d recommend checking with his/her healthcare provider to check insulin and C-peptide levels. Insulin production can be elevated in someone with insulin resistance, but depending on how high the level is, we sometimes need to start looking for other possible sources of that excessive insulin production.
