I was an NYC fire fighter. when one day we responded to a car accident on Forster and Ocean Avenue in BK, one of these wheelie kids was doing a wheelie, ran through a light, and hit the rear door of an other car. The impact smashed the rear windshield pillar into the skull of the toddler who is sitting in the backseat. She was still moving slightly, but I had been to accidents like this before, and I knew it was over. I'll never forget what that child looked like, so I can see why these bikes may be a problem. But leave it up to vice to try to glorify this dangerous behavior, nice videography , I guess.
@ranger_dangerz Жыл бұрын
I don't know they're trying to glorify it but I take your point. Vice is synonymous with sensationalist content though so that's their shtick. The reality is most people don't want to consider the flip side to most of these the brutal reality of drugs, prostitution etc. People are a product of their environment I guess. It's just deeply depressing. I hope you received counselling for what you saw. Trauma is real and can impact you in ways you're not even aware of. If you didn't get counselling my advice would be get some. It's proven that just talking about things is beneficial

One thing I hate about street riders is how they always act tough in a group. One time I was driving and this guy was speeding in neighborhoods on a quad. A guy was pulling out and the quad hit the hood and the rider flew. The driver immediately got out to see if he was ok and he was attacked by all of the other riders. I had to run over there and tell the driver to immediately leave. He wanted to explain and call the police but these people were not going to listen.

theres plenty of activities that are illegal and danngerous that no one considers cool even though they are dangerous and illegal. lets say there are no more rules in some post end of the world doomsday, i am positive people would be cruising around on a motorcycle doing wheelies. on the other hand, i dont think people would be playing russian roulette. @@Carthodon
@Carthodon10 ай бұрын
@@tylerjones448 I have a feeling that something is being lost in translation here, because I'm not sure how someone can say that they believe people wouldn't be playing russian roulette if they think the world is ending. If people kill themselves when they find out they have a terminal illness there will be people who will want to do it as a group in the form of a game. I'm not saying everything that is dangerous or illegal is seen as cool, going into the sewers in order to drink its contents would be both. I do not believe that people who tag are artists who can't afford art supplies to do art legally, nor do I think would this fellow be into popping wheelies on an isolated dirt road. They specifically want to do it in Times Square of all places BECAUSE its unusual, makes them the center of attention in their otherwise unremarkable lives, and because its not designed for these purposes. The danger aspect is also important because at the end of the day his big trick is in balancing. Lots of ways to use that skill that pose less risk to yourself and others, and even the way he does it screams a need for danger because he is wearing way less physical protection than I use when riding a motorcycle in as safe a manner as possible. Not once did I see him wear a jacket or pants (which would resist being torn on pavement), and I do remember pictures where he isn't even using a helmet.

You know what happens if there's an accident, his friends press on the other driver and intimidate them to comply.a number of times, they cause the accident and the other driver gets beaten up and robbed to cover the cost of repair to their bikes.
