I am with you on that. My Vulpera Warlock does the same. The main reason my Pandaren Shaman is in the Honorbound chain set is because the boots actually cover her feet. I'm not a furry (though some of my friends are), my main and secondary are both Blood Elves, like a proper basic white girl.

Not to mention, the ONLY reason I don't play male or female Cowpeople is because of the helm shit. Plus has anyone seen a Goblin in game? They have little hats or hoods on ONLY. Upright Orc males have really bad shoulder issues when they stand up straight and are hunched over. Most of the Horde main classes have suffered for a while with all this for quite some time.

I first thought the night elf gender restrictions were lifted solely for gameplay purposes, but this artifact might be the first time this change was mentioned ingame. So if night elf males can become priests of Elune, then a male Night Warrior shouldn't be impossible.

I only dislike the implementation of gay characters when they're only in the game BECAUSE they are gay. It feels like in those situations, the company doesnt ACTUALLY care about gay people but only care about ticking off the box. Believable good characters that also happen to be gay should really be the standard, so that in those games "gay people" are also just people, and not some corporate plan. And in this instance it is great, this dude is an ancient night warrior who is also gay. Just feels like this is what representation should be.

its not so much about that as it is coming out during the cancel generation, where a lot of ip's are retconning and changing the psychological nature of how a fiction characters or so developed. representation has to be done correct, and not tokenized. the ross affect from friends tv show, where ross realizes his wife is gay can only work so far in story telling, orange is the new black did a good story telling as well. like the suffragettes fighting for equal rights also comes with equal chances of a start, like a new char, or a story. what scares me is that since vanilla and through to now there was none of it (maybe shaw), but for it to come out at the wrong time of irl (in real life) period is the problem. our cultural intellectual properties were destroyed already, like star trek, star wars, terminator, dr who, mcu and dcu to follow, countless tv shows, game companies... the list is endless. history in the making requires a foundation built upon stone and not sand, a history in the making requires starting on the right foot and a equal footed one and not at the expense and the backs and already established story line or a characters. a history in the making is like playing ww 1 to 3 and exploring the unexplored regions, game isnt fun if you can see it already. so blizzard better do this right, wow is all of our culture. But I gotta question, frankly: What constitutes a "good gay character" that isn't just "ticking off a box"? I mean, I know the entire world is talking about LGBTQ stuff and it IS tiresome when it is literally included in all media seemingly, to the basic mind, as an aside and a way to "tick a box", but in reality IN MY opinion the reason we feel like this is just because of how unrealistic we subliminally see same-sex relations, at least in America. It's not a conscious effort to diminish or demean the entire movement - It's just incidental, and still very really a problem with our own psyche where it pertains to this entire subject ... which brings us back to the original question I posed. In my opinion, there's no really "good character" that'll satisfy the inclusion of gay as a natural part of a fictional culture until we simply accept it in our REAL culture. That will take a good bit of time to do, because even though I have not one issue with a gay person being gay at all, it's still "weird" to me ... I can't really help that natural sort of mental tick reaction to it. I'm a child of the 90's ... it simply wasn't a normal thing then and "you're gay!" was a sort of silly slang that was all too common to us back then.

I agree, look at Aang from Avatar, the last airbender. He can invoke the avatar state and bring Kyoshi in, like in the episode of the trial. It's Aang's body, but you would consider the Avatar a "she" since Kyoshi temporarily took over. Doesn't feel like a recon or "pushing an agenda"

I've tried to pay attention to all the inter-species couples in game. We know obviously of elves with humans and that lovely goblin and gnome couple. But there is that one gnome and human with the same gnomish last name in Sholazar Basin. And two characters that are orc-draenei hybrids, and oddly ogres and orcs can interbreed.

@@patrickmccurry1563 As far as elf-human breeding goes, it's worth noting that Azeroth doesnt actually have a lot of biodiversity. As far as we know, the only "life" on Azeroth is Elementals, Voidspawn, or corrupted titanforged. So almost all life on the planet comes directly from the flesh of old gods. Strangely, we don't actually know how trolls came into existence (at least not that I've found). Given that they faught against the aqir, I would assume they might be corrupted titanforged descendants (like vrykul). And thus it's very plausible that most azeroth races could breed without issue.

I have no stake in this character, but I can say there are a few forced characters that are annoying. I have zero problems with original characters that happen to like whatever it is they choose to be into. I have an issue when the developer/writers change an existing character's sexual preferences or in general when the motives seem super forced due to the current climate of inclusion. I'll likely get disliked, downvoted and canceled but inclusion isnt't they same and pandering. Abbey = gud. Lando/Dumbledore = annoyingly forced.

The whole thing with only Night Elf women being priests hasn't been relevant since WoW Classic. In Warcraft 3 women were the Sentinels and Priesthood, while the men were the Druids. It likely would have been both unpopular and too complicated to keep those restrictions when WoW was being made, so they just did away with the restrictions. The Night Warrior ritual is so old that Shandris, who has been around for as long as Tyrande, Maiev and Malfurion i.e. 10,000 years, hadn't even heard of it. Even Maiev only seems to know what are effectively legends about it and apparently, anyone who met the previous Night Warriors were long dead by Maiev et al's time. So like Tali said, its entirely possible that long before Tyrande was even born, men could become both priests and take up the mantle of the Night Warrior. The restriction only came in later. Not only that but it makes no sense to me that you would restrict that role based on gender. Like "Yeah I know your people are close to being wiped out and you're willing to take on the burden of being my avatar but... you're a dude and that's yucky, only girls get to be Night Warriors. Go away!".

@wowalinbie Imo when they added the same-sex couple to wow I thought that was cool but Blizz is not trying to check a box off if they really wanted to do that I would begin raising this couple up onto a pedestal while making everyone else NPC wise like Tyrande feel inferior. But obviously this couple is not meant to do that but story-wise they are just helping a fellow night warrior out and nothing more plus the fact in the dialogue it's only mentioned once from what I noticed. I like this more than elder scrolls online where this one minor/side quest when the quest giver said in a loud voice "MY HUSBAND" the tone of voice/context of that they wanted to shove the fact down your throat elder scrolls had the quest-giver sound like the stereotypical flamboyant guy in terms of the voice they used for the quest giver. I rather imo go with Blizz's same-sex couple then elder scrolls same couple from the quest again just my opinion.

i think the issue Tali was hinting at was, spelling your dungeon name in such a way that the only way to correctly pronounce it as written would be to use an over-done, ethnically-aligned accent, is basically asking for people to start talking about racism. and there's no need for a princess and the frog reference via quote... the name of the dungeon pretty much conjures the shadow man on its own. you don't need to lead a crusade

Without a shadow of a doubt, the skits and weekly reset fill me with a childlike joy unlike anything I've felt in years. I'm always thrilled to sleep on a monday night, and wake up tuesdays with what is honestly the closest thing to a celebration of inside jokes and japes about the game I love. Tali and Evitel are intoxicatingly joyful and fun. It reminds me of childhood when things didn't matter and the world wasn't such a dark place filled with underlying insidious motivations. What I'm trying to say, is it feels good watching your show, you two make WoW fun for me, and both are wholesome beyond compare. We vibing.
