Meet the four newest additions to the family!
I have compiled some footage of these four rascals who were welcomed into the family earlier this fall. And for those patiently waiting, there is a new Nana & Kaiser video currently in production that should be completed shortly as well.

Cash and Mortimer are two feeder rats who joined the family on September 14. They were both minutes away from becoming a ball python's dinner at the time that I rescued them, and they have since settled in remarkably well with everyone here. Cash has a friendly, sociable personality with an audacious streak, while Mortimer is more mellow and enjoys nestling in my arms or lap.
London and Britain are my two wild Norway rat hybrids. I had never considered "agile" or "athletic" to be actual personality traits until I met these two. They are both about as distant from your typical domestic rat as possible in nearly every respect, but particularly in their exceptional climbing and jumping abilities which are far superior to any fancy rat. Both are very high maintenance and mischievous (although not destructive); in fact, I have not had an animal as energetic, animated, and impish as London and Britain since I lost Sebastian last year. They have kept my hands quite full with their zany antics, but I wouldn't trade them for the world.
And lest there be any concerns regarding cords in the room... Not one of my rats has ever gnawed on any items in my home, whether they are cords, furniture, objects, etc. They have their own toys to satiate their chewing needs and because I keep their minds busy with activities to engage in, none of them have ever gnawed on anything other than their toys. Many rats will begin chewing on household items (such as electrical cords) out of boredom and/or if they are not provided with their own chewing items. However, since everyone here gets ample mental stimulation every day and they are provided with their own chew toys, they have never, ever felt the need to gnaw on cords or other items in the house. My rats would rather climb the cords than chew them anyway, as this video shows.
Apologies for the clutter in a few of the clips. I have been moving many things around in the training room temporarily due to some renovation work being done.

I have never seen rats have so much fun! It's a joy to watch them running around and climb objects that are so high/tall compared to their small stature. They seemed quick to make the room their own. Mortimer is the cutest. I can't wait to see them in future videos! ❤️

Cash and Mortimer are so fortunate that you've rescued them and are going to be in for the time of their life! Britain and London are absolutely stunning! The videos you've posted of your rats' talents has been very heart warming and inspiring. After a good year of waiting, the fantastic rat breeder in my area has finally been able to promise two kittens to me, does, who I'll be taking home in around 12-14 days. Once they're settled in, I look forward to beginning to work with them with the clicker. Thanks for the inspiration!

They are so adorable! Since my gerbils have become over one year old, they're jumping a lot. The other day when I was holding them, Jasper jumped onto the night stand. The night stand was a good 7 inches away and 5 inches higher!

Many thanks. :) As of late, everyone gets along superbly with everyone... save for Shorty and the rats. I would never allow him to interact with my rats as his instincts for hunting them are far too strong. But otherwise, the gang has been getting along harmoniously.
