I bought this in the Xbox store but it was not in the ship selection tree anywhere. I asked Microsoft for a refund and got it. Unlocked the destroyer Campbeltown and same story, wasn’t in the ship selection tree anywhere. This is extremely frustrating.

GG. Cheers for the review. We have had a sea full of DDs and cruisers so great to see a BB. Has some tricks and is very athletic. Might reach into my long pockets for this one. Peas love and bring on the Russian BBs.

T3 and T4 battles are honestly a lot of fun. I Took an Orion and 1v3'd 2 Wyoming's and a Arkansas. Came out on top with a kraken and 3 dev strikes. Orion is the QE of T3. AP and HE are both amazing. Those limited dmg con's are going to screw me up bc I'm so used to using dmg con on two or more fires and flooding. Now you have to really think about burning them now. Great vid!

A superfiring turret is one that is located behind and above ("super") the one in front of it, so that it can fire over it. So, you are correct, none of these turrets are actually in a superfiring position.

the nice thing is that you can see the influences from other russian ships, it has a striking resemblance to the aurora, a tier 2 cruiser, and the next ship in the line, the Izmail, has a very similar turret formation. Nice subtlety on wargaming's part

Just got this ship and played first battle. I've got to say it's a lot of fun. Granted with Von Essen it's not the optimal build but 5 repair parties and 4 dam cons that works pretty well. 88k damage 3 citidels (all cruisers all HE) I only switched to AP for one broadside close range bb kill. Reading the stats HE does (if I remember right max 4800 and AP max like 8400? Something close) with this build 35%fire chance so I was testing HE and almost every salvo was 2 fires, citidels on every cruiser. No citidels with the 6 or 8 volleys from AP but that was a Duke I believe. With that many guns HE is valid for this ship, 2 salvos it took out every cruiser I came across. And 204k coins so it will be a good bunny stomping coin farmer. There was a noticeable drop in accuracy at range however. I'll test a few now with AP and see what kind of damage difference I encounter. "With that being said" I enjoy the videos, keep up the good work.

Keep an angle use the excellent turning to get all guns involved and AP is very good. The small caliber means citadelling BBs is difficult but against cruisers its nasty. That being said you get more standard pens and get nasty salvo damage even with no citadels

My favorite Tier IV, I ran it out the other day to scrape off the barnacles and finished the daily ops in one match with a Kraken. I run 16/2 Kedrov (5 DCP, 5 Heals) but I am going to boost up Von Essen and see how he does in this.

This ship was the ultimate seal clubber in the PC version. If you were an elite player you could rampage through the enemy team and there was nothing they could do about it.

I also love tier 3 and 4 battles. I always seem to only get 4 kills (as my kills get stolen which is the reason I haven't gotten a single kraken) but they are very fun matches, a bit of a break from the sweat-fest that is tier 7!

Level is the dispersion build which allows much more accuracy which I prefer but you get set on fire a lot Kadyrov is the tank build which makes you harder to sink and accuracy and range suffer

Also I should point out the Base Captain for the Russians is a pretty good fit as well if you don't have the BB captains trained up

Take the caliber number and divide it by 14.3. That tells how much armor you can overmatch.

Spartan is wrong this ship is extremely overpowered I was very surprised to see it in patch notes. It was only released for a short time on PC never to return. Check out its win rate of it on PC in the right hands it is almost unstoppable.

gravityhamster quite possibly, I mean an extra damage con for any battleship would be hard to turn down if it only has a limited supply of them. If/when I get it I’d have to experiment between a build meant for dispersion and another for survivabilty. For all of my time ‘well’ spent watching videos of the pc version I know the Imperator Nikolai from the box has basically no vertical dispersion which, especially when firing at broadside targets having a lot of vertical dispersion is obviously what makes a lot of the shots miss, so a survivability build might be the way to go. Plus it would come with an extra heal or two which would help the aforementioned limited number of damage controls last longer.

@@SpartanElite43 also fun info there was a US navy proposal given to Benjamin Tillman, which was proposed during WWI, and basically were an enlarged Nevada Class. Tillman II was supposed to weight at 70.000 tons belt armor of 7-13 inches, and armaments of (24) 16 inch 50 caliber in four six-gun Turrets while Tillman IV-2 was supposed to have Five three gun Turrets of a caliber of 18 inches

Ive had some seriously ridiculous games at tier 4 whether this or the Omaha or New York these types of games are possible because a lot of the players just do not know what they are doing so your team is bad enough to allow you to do damage to most of the enemy

Spartan Elite43 yeah I know but still 200K in tier 4 should be really rare I consider myself to be an above average player in WOW with 72% winrate(I do play in divisions) and I only got 200K dmg in tier 4 twice both times in the Kongo but I played more than 50 battles in that ship. And I think it’s way more common in the nikolas to get 200K

Start watching Sees Spartan is using Dispersion Commander in a brawler... Pauses and stops watching.... Spartan, you really need to skip the dispersion build and go down Brawler ready for the Russian BB line

@@SpartanElite43 the point I was trying to make is Russian BBs don't need a dispersion build when they naturally have good dispersion for mid to close range battles. These ships aren't "Snipers" and in essence using the Dispersion Commander, you're just wasting pushing for max range. Enhancing the turret traverse, the DC (due to you pushing the flanks) and having better reload is king.

Stupidly OP. 170K at t4, how can you say it isn't? Use Kedrov with Brawler & Porcupine. Immune to HE, devastates cruisers and has lots of survivability. It's the ship Bismark wants to be. Will dominate ranked.
