When their 6-year-old son with autism became overwhelmed at Disney World's Epcot theme park, Snow White knew just what to do, giving the boy some special attention and even taking him aside to help calm him down in a sweet moment that has since gone viral. The Bergner family sat down with Dan Mannarino to explain how it all happened and why going viral has connected them to people all around the world in a very special way.

So think about this: A child starts having a meltdown in front of her, yet she stays in character the whole time. That's a professional.

I'm autistic and an adult. This story is beautiful, to see Snow White comforting an autistic boy, and it's touching especially for parents who raise and work so hard for these children. What a princess!

The two comments before mine are just plain stupid. Snow White went above and beyond and her efforts should be recognized by Disney. Whatever they're paying that young lady it's not enough.

Just gross when company policy trumps deserved recognition for a very caring act. And it seems Disney is taking partial credit for this actress' kindness to the boy. My guess is that since she picked up immediately on his autism, she may have an autistic family member of her own.

I've read where each Disney princess on duty, be it at Anaheim or Orlando, has to greet a minimum of 172 guests per hour or they get some kind of strike against them. The lady donning the Snow White costume on this occasion risked getting one against her, but is to be commended for her graciousness and tenderness. If anything, she really was 'true to her character' on that day.

do you know? It's amazing what Disney does for people. Snow white in that video, even though I am blind and unable to see it, I don't have to see the video with my eyes, I can get the image when people describe it to me. Just like this lady was. This little boy's mother. It's also amazing that, Snow White knew exactly what to do with her son. Bless you snow white

My oldest kid is on the autism spectrum and I was very impressed with how the kind the cast members were towards us. I had already did my research on how they go the extra mile for those with special needs. I asked my kids if they wanted to try another theme park now that they’re a few years older, they both said “No, we want to go back to Disney World”. So, we will be going back😇

I wonder if the parents ever got to find out who Snow White is, to thank her personally, like they wanted to. I know Disney is super hush-hush about that stuff, but surely this is an extenuating circumstance, and I'm sure the parents would keep it secret.

There was a similar story about a little autistic boy who actually grew a strong bond with Snow White, so his parents kept in contact with the cast member and have made trips to Disney World each year so their son and Snow White can meet again. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJXEe3uvebiBhrM The mother actually post videos of their meetings on KZbin.

Generally Disney does not encourage such things. When in character in the park they must remain 100% in character and when not they don't say "I am Snow White" or "I do Snow White" they say "I work with Snow White."

@@nunyabiznez6381 They are forbidden to sit down as well. They can kneel or squat, but never sit. Knowing how Disney is she probably got called out on that too even though circumstances were other than normal.

@@booboo8577 I don't know the policy at Disneyland but here in Florida, Disney World will make exceptions for certain circumstances. I doubt that cast members on duty get into trouble for trivial violations of policy when done to facilitate a good Disney experience for guests. I heard of Mickey Mouse once softly singing to a crying toddler and didn't get into trouble for it.

My two oldest nephews are autistic. It took me a few years to get used how they are. And I have a cousin whose oldest son is also autistic. And two years ago, I was working for my cousin's dad with my cousin's two sons helping us. My cousin's dad was very impressed with how I was able to work with his autistic son. And I'd told his dad about my two nephews being autistic, so I knew how to handle it

Alot of poeple also dont know there are different kinds of Autism. My own brother has autism and so does one of my oldest friends, growing up and even sharing a room with him was without a doubt one of the hardest experiences in my life so far, but that might also be becease i use to have ADHD as a kid. But i think Brody's parents are right, alot of poeple dont get or understand what goes on inside a persons head with autism, thanks to my eperience with that I get along prety well at work with a few colleagues with autism. Where as my normal colleagues usually just dont talk alot with them, or they just TRY to make the one with autism understand them wich one should NEVER ever do cos poeple with autism cant understand some things, they just dont recieve the information they are getting. No WE need to understand what THEY need and work with the best way how THEY recieve certain information. And thats how you get around with someone with Autism. Edit: Beautiful gesture by the way by Snow White as is mentioned in the video "She knew exactly what to do", coudnt agree more. I went to Disneyland with my brother in the summer of 2019, will surely go again when things get back to normal.
