Gaylord was more popular name between 1850 - 1950 , its Celtic origin Gaillard , got a bit twisted when made English. As family name its rare , one report said there was about 80 Gaylord families living in NY in 1830 and that 1/3 of all families known with that name in world. Must been a clerical error as with many immigrants, it's even in Godfather 2, they did wrote as family name the city they come from .

In my mid-20's, working in constriuction and renovation, mostly in Manhattan. I met a nice girl at a party in Hoboken New Jersey..we set up a dinner date. She picked me up in her Mercedes and we drove miles down I-95 to an Italian restaraunt she'd chosen. I asked her what she 'did' and she said she was just 'helping out' with her parents' business while she decided what career she wanted. She went on to say that her uncle, her brother and her cousins also worked at the business, which was...."concrete, and waste disposal". I remarked that I didn't yet know her last name. "Bonanno" she said. I instantly made the connection between our general location, her "family business" and her last name. It was a pleasant date, she was nice and fun, but when she suggested a 2nd date, I demurred. Bonanno is the name of one of 'The Five Famiies" of New York...i.e. Mafia. Meeting the parents was interesting in my household growing up. My oldest sister was the first to invite a boy over. Our father, who was in law enforcement, answered the door when he arrived. And as he stepped into the house, my father told him, "Assume the position." Thinking he was playing along, the boy immediately faced the nearest wall and put his hands on the wall, as if he was being arrested and about to be frisked. It was at that point my father leaned in and said softly in his ear, "I can't tell you how disappointed I am that you knew what it meant to 'assume the position.' It's almost as if you had done it before." He then turned and walked over to his recliner, where he sat down and picked up his newspaper. I don't know how many minutes the boy remained in the position. But I still remember the look on his face. I also remember that none of my other sisters brought boys by the house after that.

I was a troublemaker when my (now) wife started dating in highschool. So, I was trying to be cool 😎 and my then gf and I went to a nature park to smoke. Cops>arrest>they let her go. So, my first meeting was them telling me that "never again" could anything like that happen. They were nice about it and it never happened again. That was almost 26 years ago and we're still going strong! We're going to visit her dad and stepmom in Nashville in a few weeks. So, it probably shouldn't have worked out but it did.

The lead character from Get Out was probably more comfortable than Greg was. 😁
