My mom had 5 children over a 2 year 5 month period in 64 in 65 and 66 with two sets of twins book ended by one in the middle (I'm number 5). We then proceeded to travel around the world twice mostly on her own because we were traveling to be where my dad was working. Then tragically my dad died before the oldest of us was 5 but my mom still managed to fight and keep us all together. She was a woman of faith as well and she dearly loved her children. God bless this young couple there is so much joy ahead for those little babies.

Shocking! In America she had to get sick days donated from other people!!! Maternity leave is a human right. It is time needed to bond with your child and teach them love. How wonderful. Our 4th was twins. They are so close in some ways, more than normal siblings. It is an incredible life long bond. For this couple to have 2 sets is very unusual and the grandparents deserve huge thanks as it keeps the careers fo the young parents going which is all for the good of the family longer term.

@Crista Ferrari-Girault Hold on. Tell the backside of it too. France has many issues and great poverty as well. I remember seeing a segment on such a thing, but it was not completely ideal. There is no Utopian society in this world that I know of. I have been to Paris and its surrounding areas. It is Not lovely in all parts and it is highly expensive to live there, for there is barely a middle class. Have, have a little, have less, have much less.

I had four kids. But my twin daughters came when the second child was only 17 months old, so the three youngest of my kids were more like triplets. It was hard and the laundry always going and dishes always needing cleaned is true but worth it. I miss my kids being babies! Beautiful family❤

Wow! I can relate to this because I , too have two sets of twins, a fraternal twins and identical twins. My fraternal twins were born in Dec. 12, 1998 and my other twins who are identical were born Jan. 29, 2000.

I don’t know their exact circumstances but many parents in Australia use day care centres to raise their children. If the child wakes at 6 am spends 1 hour until drop off then spends 12 hours in care, goes home at 6 pm off to bed at 7pm that means the parents are raising their children? We have them 12 hours a day the parents 2 waking hours, some children cry when they have to go home with their parents. It’s a very sad state of affairs but at least these parents have the grandparents to take on the majority of care. This generation of teens are messed up, is it because of being abandoned in child care centres with high levels of stress hormones that recent studies say babies are subjected to in formal care? I think it plays a big role in the great decline in childrens mental health, but that’s just my opinion from 30 years of being an early child hood educator.

My mother in law had 8 kids. After first two babies she had 2 sets of twins in a row. Then the two youngest boys. She swore all the twins very close in age, were easier than the other 4 as singles.

I had twin daughters. I found the first two years much harder, because it was double the work, and infants are work. But once they hit their second year, it became much easier than single-birth babies. Single-birth babies are much more demanding of your attention than twins. The twins entertained themselves.

In my school there were three sets of identical twins from the same family. The first two sets were girls a year apart. Then a couple of years later twin boys. The funny thing is that the two sets of twin girls looked alike, almost like quadruplets.

I would have loved for my mother to have at least some of the benefits of this couple’s experience, rather than her actual situation of two sets of twins 12.5 months apart nearly 60 years ago, when the concept of ‘village’ wasn’t known, items weren’t donated, existing on very little income, her husband away serving in the Navy, and limited family support. Her reality would have been much harsher than this couple’s. I wish this family only the best of experiences and situations possible. 💗

@@VintageRose75 🥰 Thank you! We’re Australian but the sentiment is appreciated. Yes, I’m the youngest of the twins, and us twins and Mum are still alive. One of 12? Wow. That’s a lot of names and identities to keep straight. We were of 6, and that was hard enough. Often, mum or dad would be so busy or stressed that they’d call us by going through the list of our names in age order before they got to ours. I can’t imagine how your grandparents coped, with or without a village of support (and I’m seriously hoping they had a whole village!).
