Read the Articles of the Constitution. Other than breaking a tie vote in Congress when it comes down to presidential election the V.P. has absolutely no power. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but it's true. Trump knows that many people are clueless of this fact so he spews a minutiae of bulshit out of his mouth proclaiming that Kamala Harris should have done something to fix such-and-such issue over the past 3.5 years. He knows that as V.P. she is powerless. He knows he can bait feeble-minded, less educated people into believing Harris hasn't done anything. According to the Articles of the Constitution the three branches of government are to have equal but separate powers. Ah, but this isn't the case. The Legislative branch - Congress wields the most power followed by the Executive branch - the president and his cabinet/administration and lastly the Judicial branch- the Supreme Court, the Appellate Court/ Federal Court of Appeals, and the lesser Federal State Supreme Courts. Aside from granted powers as stated in Article II of the Constitution, a president's power is solely based on how many members in the House and Senate of Congress are aligned with the same political party affiliation as the president. For example: During Trumps first two years in office both the House and Senate were of the same political party affiliation as Trump, Republican, which meant he potentially had a lot of power, just so long as both chambers of Congress agreed with whatever Trump's agenda or proposals were. During Trumps last two years in office the Democrats gained control of the House, which limited Trump's power as president. Similarly, at the start of Trump's presidency the Supreme Court had a five-four liberal majority, which meant that Trump had little to no persuasion of the Supreme Court at the time. This all changed when Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg retired, and Trump appointed Supreme Court Justices such as Amy Cohen Barrett and two other Supreme Court Justices, which drastically swayed the balance of justice and power to the far right conservative side. Now you probablyknow more about government than most anyone around you. I hope this clarifies a little bit about how our government works.
