Your federal (and when applicable, your state) marginal tax rate is determined by your earned income, regardless of whether that income was generated through regular-time, overtime or double-time pay or from tips. "You get taxed higher if you work overtime." That's correct *only if* the additional income you earn drives you into a higher federal marginal tax bracket. Any amount in that higher bracket will be subject to a higher marginal tax rate.

The real issue is the shame of the electoral college itself. 6 million voters in California do not count once the State popularvote takes the electoral vote clamp. There would be no race without those 5 battleground states. It is time to get the National Popular vote compact into law by ballot initiatives to state constitutions manner of choosing electors in Missouri, Ohio and, Michigan and Arizona and Florida at minimum and maybe Oklahoma and Nevada too.

If people only knew why taxes are there for. There no need to cover for revenue from overtime and social security. By the way, social security shouldn’t even be taxed anyway. And overtime shouldn’t even be accounted for in the budget. Where there’s a will there’s a way. And It’s very easy to separate overtime from regular time if it came down to it. It would be a simple extra form the employer would fill out every month. It’s not that hard. 🤦🏻‍♂️

No taxes on overtime wouldn't cost the government anything. If a worker didn't work overtime the government doesn't get paid. Example; "Currently, I work 40 hours a week. I pay my taxes on those 40 hours. if i so happened to work 60 hours the government would get extra money because I would have to pay taxes on that overtime. But since I didn't work overtime in my 40 hours. The government gets 40 hours of of taxable income."

That sounds great, but he's also planning to change the rules of overtime so that its no longer about how many hours you work in a week, but more on how many hours you work in a month. I'm sorry, I meant to say "conceptions of a plan", so its possible it might be how many hours you work in a year. If you work more than 2,080 hours a year, the extra hours won't be taxed. 🤔
