Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas

5 жыл бұрын

Beau is heading to to llama ranch to feed and weigh some of the new baby llamas and then introduce them to the llama herd!
Then Beau introduces some of the stud llamas so you guys can know who we’re talking about in the future! The two that we introduce today are Shawmen and Solely. Shawmen is 3 generations away from a wild llama, and I’ll tell you what, he’s pretty wild! Solely is another one of our good studs. We have about 20 babies from Solely including Marcus Leupold the public lands llama! Marcus will serve as Randy Newberg’s lead pack animal on public land hunts throughout the western portion of the United States for the 2018 hunting season. To learn more check out this out bit.ly/2poR6zg
Finally Beau takes some of the male llamas to one of out rental pastures. This time of the year (spring) the grass is lush and watered so that means it’s time to move the llamas to pasture. You guys are not going to want to miss these guys playing in their new home!

I've really enjoyed the videos about living and working with Llamas - Would love to see a series of videos for first time owners - what to look for in pack Llamas, how to care for them, things to look out for, etc. Would love to see a series of training videos - how you prepare a Llama for packing. That enough to get you started? ;)

I'm looking at a seven year old male llama for future breeding. He's never bred before. Is it possible that he wouldn't know what to do when the time comes? Also, how old are your young females before you breed them for the first time? I love your videos and I've learned a lot from them. Thanks.

It is possibly that he won't know what to do. After some time and watching other males he should figure it out. Sometimes that just take right to it. We breed most females at 24months and some at 36 months old.

@@wildernessridgetrailllamas6971 Thanks so much for answering my questions. I don't have any breeding age males for this mature male to watch so if I get him, I'll just be taking a chance that he can figure things out.

hello i just saw some of your videos...they r amazing. all your llamas have beautiful names in spanish or english...but i think you should name them in another language , QUECHUA. names like Sumac=bonita, Huayta=flower, Yana=Negra, Yurak=white, Huahua=babe, Chekchi=pocadots etc... so your Llamas do not forget their cultural identity and origin...
