So glad to see a comeback in the states. My husband is from eastern Ontario and was taught to knit, quilt, sew, net making/crochet, by his elders on the rez. So glad to see more interest by men. Art is art. All my grandies and greats get introduced to it as well.

When I was a young, 6 year old little boy my mom would get together with 2 other moms in the neighborhood to knit and drink coffee. I remember watching them and being mesmerized by what they were doing. Each person did it differently. I was intrigued so I asked my mom to teach me. She did. I have been knitting since. Although mom is gone, she is with me when I use her vintage knitting needles. This is the most therapeutic thing I have ever done. It becomes very Zen for me and I feel connected to something bigger than me when I do it. I am now 64 years old and can't imagine not knitting...

I miss the wonderful feeling I used to get having coffee with my friends (all German women) and knitting. I knit by myself now. I do knit or crochet in public, but no longer with friends.

Knitting has a way of making good memories. Although they are all gone, I think of my mom and her friends every time I do it...

I began knitting as an escape from research while working on my Doctorate. It was and still is very therapeutic. It helps me to relax and focus.

This was so cool to watch! I work at a yarn shop and it’s not uncommon for men to pop in a buy yarn for the projects they’re working on. Always a pleasure to see what’s on their needles! 🧶

I'm shocked testosterone levels are dropping in males at an alarmingly high rate. Studies show that men's testosterone levels have been declining for decades. The most prominent, a 2007 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, revealed a “substantial” drop in U.S. men's testosterone levels since the 1980s, with average levels declining by about 1% per year
@TheJanet43212 жыл бұрын
That's a good thing. High levels of testosterone are associated with higher incidents of violence.

This comment feels so outta pocket like why is this associated to this video? Look at that dude's beard I think his T levels are just fine haha. If you think that low T makes men do culturally feminine things, I think you need to be worried about your cognitive health rather than societies hormonal health as a whole

Historically men knitted ,ladies didn’t knit

It has nothing to do with knitting. My grandfather, who was Scottish, was a 6'8" logger, who knitted his own socks, as my grandmother had 8 children by the age of 24 and didn't have time to make his very large socks, so she told him to do them himself. Nobody gave that man any shit. Testosterone levels have to do with food and plastics, and other things rather than knitting.
