I went through a group therapy for depression some years ago (at a rehab facility) and suggested yarn therapy for the addicts. They said it would cost too much, there was no funding, people wouldn't be interested, etc., but it was funny that every day I was there I brought in some kind of yarn project I was working on and always had people curious about it. Everybody needs a hobby, especially when they have no other outlet.

If we all would take time to do productive things with our hands; gardening, painting, sewing whatever, people would have the need to commit criminal acts. i see the poor kids in my neighborhood ( just some.. just saying). they don't stand a chance. Mother/fathers so ill equipped in life skills , their only aspirations are that their kids will have kids and get benefits just like themselves. They know no other life.It saddens me.
