Wow! Robosen did it again. Optimus is not complete without his trailer. I would have settled for a plastic shell but instead, we get an auto-transforming trailer complete with a fully functional Roller! Pre-order already placed. Fellas, I have to tell you it is so much better when the wife is on board with your expensive Transformer purchases. Now it's time to put some money aside each month for this beauty. Oh, BTW, it also helps when you buy her something very expensive beforehand...still paying that off :(

I was just 5 years old when the original Optimus prime toy came out. I remember my mom getting it for me for Christmas that year. I rolled that thing all over the house and played with it all day! I even slept with it! Soon after i got Megatron, Soundwave and starscream! Being a kid in the 80's rocked! The toys we had back then ruled! If 5 year old me could have had an auto converting Prime toy I'd have lost my little mind.

When I was a kid in the 80’s this is what I pictured “toys in the future” would be like, glad to see this but I honestly expected this kind of craftsmanship for toys like 20 years ago, instead toys got cheaper as far as being made, and materials used made the toys feel cheap, like for example Mcfarlene Toys when they first came out you can see and feel the difference between theirs and other action figures by other companies, but even nowadays McFarland toys feels lighter and look kinda cheap for the price they charge, I remember my voltron toys where all the tigers and the sword were made out of metal/steel! Those were the good old days, but I’m still glad this exists! 👍

Today's toys are superior in terms of articulation and posability, as compared to the 80s and even 90s. The paint apps are far more precise and pristine, as well. The unfortunate truth about all metal parts is that it has to be painted for there to be color, and paint chips. Another problem with metal is that it becomes too heavy, and therefore, figures are unable to hold poses. For high quality Transformers figures, fortunately there is the Masterpiece line, and third party companies such as Iron Factory, MakeToys, FansToys, Toyworld, and so on. (But there is a price tag to reflect that.)

When I was young you had to transform them yourself. It took 20 minutes only for you to decide you rather have it back as a robot. You could only do the transform noises with your mouth for 10 seconds which meant 19 minutes and 50 seconds of silent difficult transformation. You kids today and your self transforming transformers, you’ll never understand the difficulties of the 80’s.
