Crazy fact: Hummingbirds are routinely preyed upon by praying mantises, making then the only birds to be regularly predated upon by an insect
@kennethmullen-qe9hg
@kennethmullen-qe9hg Ай бұрын
True! But also preying mantises will eat lizards occasionally, sometimes ones much bigger, and heavier than they are. Much larger, than one may even think would/could be possible from our perspective. Lizards most bugs avoid, as if their life depended on doin' so, them bein' professional insectivores, mind you, odds would say so, anyway, as most are. Except when it comes to mantises, a lizard likely will make a meal of one that's fairly smaller relatively, but a grown mantis will turn a normal day, into a very bad one, for the average lizard, likely never EXPECTIN' such a thing even possible. Mantises actually I'd really have to SAY are, basically, the insect-world's version of mustelids! Really fightin' way above their class, and weight! Both doing so viciously, and, while exuding such unmatched confidence all-the-while as well...lol!
