Ghanaians recognize senior high schools even more than tertiary. People will actually fight you if downplay their senior high schools.Lecturers will immediately ask you of the senior high school you are coming from if you do good or bad.

Former Nigerian minister of defence went to Akyem Oda second school. Odasco, so when the school was celebrating 40 years anniversary way back in 1998 he was there... Nigerian former footballer Sampson Siasia raised in Koforidua, also went to school in Koforidua. There are a lot of Nigerians and other African countries citizens going to free SHS in Ghana, most of the foreigners are Nigerians, but most of them are not appreciate

I think Asante Mampong is different from Mampong, though both are in the Asanti Region. There is also Akuapim Mampong.
