THe "commotion" isn;t that she won't be the captain. It is that, in theory, you won't even be present to help mentor, lead, and guide a young team. It isn't about captain. it is about not even being there. However, she could still go as a "coach"

🙄 men’s last World Cup: 1.5 billion viewers Women’s last World Cup: 1.12 billion viewers Not as far off as you think and the women don’t get anywhere near as much publicity, sponsorship, or advertisement. It is one of the world’s biggest events. It’s okay to root for both teams. I hope the men’s team does well in their games as well. You don’t always have to drag the women just because they’re women. If you don’t like them, don’t watch. There’s no need to leave rude comments. The USWNT is an exciting team for many people to watch because they win a lot. If they win this WC, they’ll have achieved something no other team in soccer, men’s or women’s. has done before: a WC three-peat. 3 consecutive WC wins. That’s really cool.
