Meet my new baby Vigilant!
was gonna change the name to Angling and Anxiety , but not going to tempt fate as its known to he bad luck!
by the end fo 2021 I promise to have a Shark to this boat , plus untold mixed speices fishing
super excited to get her out to play , but this is England and as you well know the weathers horrendous and not looking to change anytime soon
looking forward to my maiden voyage

Happy Days Kev. One issue in this Video i saw - That engine is a 4 stroke - you do not put 2 stroke oil in with the fuel ok kev0 . Just fuel only - 2 stroke oil - not needed.

Nice looking boat, chuffed for you, it'll be great watching you tidy it up & fishing from it 🎣 Appologies if you've already thought of this, but from personal experience (some bastard stole the gear) I'd remove anything that can be removed easily, ie fish finder, radio ect , also 1st thing I would get is boat insurance against theft & personal liability, tow hitch lock & wheel clamp.

There is always some problems when you buy a used boat. I godt myself a new (to me anyway) boat before christmas and is just about finish with working on it. Its been a grind, but happy days are here now :)

Lovely boat fella, well done on your purchase. If you do manage to make an acquaintance with any shark, please leave them in the water where they belong. No need to boat a fish nowadays. You can get all the pics and film you need. Saw one too many pics of fish that were brought onboard this year with the colours draining. Only one place they were going - down to the bottom. Use the appropriate gear. Don’t go alone. Be aware of surroundings, it’s not a pleasant place to be down there with the tides and swell at times. Respect the anglers Fishing it, respect the fish if your lucky enough to meet one. I know decent anglers who have blanked for 2 years running. Enjoy yourself, it’s a marathon, not a sprint and if you do manage to get one, enjoy the moment. The buzz from seeing a huge fish jumping 10ft out of the water that your attached too, will give you an adrenaline rush like no other!!! I assure you of that... 😉🤞👍🏻

A good going over that boat will be mint pal!!! Some nice deck paint take all the electronics off before hand and get some “jif” the cleaning stuff and do all your fibreglass with it and watch it come up gleaming abit of elbow grease she will be a fine vessel pal. Put the fuel tanks your side if your taking Rhys balance the boat out 🤣🤣🤣🇬🇬🇬🇬

For the deck I've just used masonry paint mate 👍 for the blue bits I used a marine paint I bought from ebay . On the out side I'm having it done in gel coat . Hope that helps mate

Hi kev, nice boat ( I think it’s a Pilot 490 not a Wilson ?) I have the 590, please before you take it out check the main window rubber as mine blew in on a huge wave ( very scary) I bolted, bonded and fixed a polycarbonate screen before anything else ! Check for any water below the deck ( if it is a Pilot you won’t have a issue because it does not have any foam fillings) I would install a deck hatch inspection hole and buy a simple hand water pump extractor Subcribed

I've got them all out now mate , nearly finished it all now just thw deck and the exterior to paint , internally it's mint now fully painted , new interior led lighting. New steering wheel . I've gone silly I really have 🤦‍♂️ pics on the Facebook and insta 👍 Done some more work since then aswell. Really is looking good 👍
