Me Again. One for the total novice like me. When looking at getting a boat and will be storing at home. Shorter boat does not always means narrower and don't forget the width of the trailer. I have seen the same size boat on 2 different style trailers. One where the trailer is wider than the hull (Beam) another where the trailer is about the same width of the hull.

I've upgraded from my Fletcher GTO speedboat as it wasn't really ideal for fishing, to be fair we didn't realise we would spend most of out time fishing when i bought it. Do you have a link to the Rod holders you have in your boat please as they look spot on, thanks in advance, Leon.

I lived in a marina in Sooke for 12 years. Lots of people ( weekend warriors) launched their boats forgetting the drain plug.The boat I have now I replaced the wood in the transom and stringers and I eliminated the drain plug. The little bit of rainwater that finds its way in gets pumped out with electric pump. One less thing to remember.. ( P.S. Nearly all the boats I have towed in had only one engine !!! Be safe! A good article, howver, the guy with the Wilson needs to check his maths. The Yam 90 burns 34.4lph wot. He quoted as trimmed out, max speed was 27 knots. That means, he’s burning 1.27 litres/mile. Petrol at £1.40/l, means it’s costing him £1.78/mile, more than double what he quoted….

@@TheFishLocker I sold new, used, brokerage boats for almost 27 years. Owned my own dealership with retail store and full repair department. Add to that a 100 ton ocean operator Capt’s license We had to be honest when dealing with customers. I can break down what I had issues with, with certain makes of vessels, but almost all dealers do not like to talk down competitors inventory. But one must remember that future prospective customer. Some begin to feel they’ve been taken advantage of…. and you want them to feel comfortable coming back to you for a step up purchase. By then they have accumulated some Important experiences and knowledge, and will likely get into a boat that fulfills what it’s owner envisions it’s occupation will be.

He does say he likes numbers. I do the same when weighing fish when my sons are around. Honest thats a 20lb wrasse.

Haha. I did mention that in the description. You are 100% correct. 4000 not 40,000. I was just getting excited. 🤣

Where do you think the Warrior Raider fits in to these? I mainly troll for perch/trout but being in Scotland require a little overhead cover :D
@TheFishLocker3 жыл бұрын
I have never fished from a Raider. Do you feel they are good?
@davidsmith68593 жыл бұрын
If your engine does 40,000 rpm you need to show it to the F1 racing boys, lol.

I did mention that in the description. I was getting excited and meant 4000. 🤦🏻♂️

Missed out the mighty Ribs , becoming more popular with anglers up Scotland now 👍

RIBs have their place but they don't compare to a proper fishing boat.

I'm sure you've thought of this or it was already suggested but, I bet you could get a walkaround attached to the front. Whether it be one that a company already makes for your Orkney to retrofit or something that can be fabricated. Like putting side steps on a truck. However, you probably don't care anymore at this point.

There are so many small boats on the market there is little point to making such big mods. Just get one that suits. 😊👍🏻

Very nice run through of boats. You should do a vid on what to do when selling one as I have one for sale now.🤣🤣😄😄👍. Can't wait to see the new one!

40,000 rpm crickey John that’s a fair motor a Formula 1 engine can only make 16000 rpm Lol

Haha. I know. Mines a special one. 🤣🤦🏻♂️ I do make comment about that in the description. I read the 40 and the words just came out without registering 🤪

people tell me that the best two days of getting a boat is the day you get it and the day you get rid of it!

I disagree personally. I guess people who say that didn't make the right decisions.

I love how you guys use smaller boats. I run an old 16ft starcraft and just put a 40hp merc 2020 on it. I have taken that boat out 30 miles off New Jersey for tuna mahi and shark. People over here won't go out of the bay in anything under 20ft. When I come back with 200lb bluefin tuna I get the craziest looks

Haha. I get the same looks when people see what I do in mine. 🤣

Gotta love it. I show people a blacktip feeding frenzy i came across last year and videoed about 3 miles off Atlantic City NJ and they usually can't believe how many sharks there were in one place. I have the video on my channel if you ever get a chance is pretty amazing. Thanks for the videos

What do you guys think about RIBs, e.g whaly?
@TheFishLocker2 жыл бұрын
They serve a purpose but aren't proper fishing boats.
