I wish I had told Cheryl how wonderful her instructions were! I had no idea that she was deceased. I hope someone close to her is keeping these videos going. They are invaluable ❤️

Dear Frances . . . to borrow a remark from Mark Twain, "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." I'm still around and doing well now after a couple of years of getting some heart issues mended. Thank you for your lovely comment on the videos. As far as I know, they'll stay on KZbin until it goes out of business or changes things drastically. They're set to go on after my death, which I hope will be some years from now.

The instructions on this video are not only good for machine knitting with the Bond, but also contain the basic elements of good design for both machine and handknitting sweaters. For example short row shoulder shaping, neck shaping etc Whatever your knowledge, I thoroughly recommend watching all of these videos in sequence without skipping a single moment.

Cheryl, thank you so much for this videos. I did buy this machine here in Norway yesterday. And have never ever knitted a thing in my life. Its kind of difficult to follow along, because of the language and because i don't have any experience in knitting. But i hope i will master knitting on the machine soon :)

So interesting. Binding off isn't done with a crochet hook and extra yarn. I didn't know what the waste yarn was about before. I read it in the pattern, WY, so thought it was white or alternate colour, so did that, then later attached the back and front shoulders together at the finish of the wy, never realizing what was going on. Can't wait to see that part done Correctly. The instruction book just doesn't teach me all of this at all!

I just cannot master this short row thing - even though you're a brilliant teacher. Could I not just bind off those stitches over the next four (or however many) rows? It'll take longer but it should work okay shouldn't it? Thank you. Love your tutorials.

Hi Bev. You can, of course, bind them off in steps. That is, in fact, what most patterns recommend, but that makes for ugly stair-steps for sewing up. You could adapt a hand-knit sloped bind-off to the machine and that would be better. I haven't done a machine video in years. I shoot by myself so it's hard enough to keep myself in the camera frame with hand knitting let alone a moving carriage, but I'll think about this. Have you joined my email newsletter group at cherylbrunette.com yet? If not, please consider joining us. That's where I give lots of good information and keep in closest touch with knitters.

Thank you. It might be in an old magazine from the 80s or techniques book but I don't know where that would be. I don't have any written version of it.

Where does one find Claw weights??? I've created some interesting weights - but would much rather have those.

+Susan Gillihan Hi Susan. I would just try Googling them. The owners of BOND America have decided to no longer manufacture the machine (which is OK in my book because the later versions have had lots of problems), but they are used universally for knitting machines. EBay would probably have some. And come on over to cherylbrunette.com and sign up for my newsletter to get cool information.
