I have been sticking the transfer tool into the loops and removing them...nothing like this simple process you are teaching. I feel like you are right here teaching me. Thank you for coming over!

Watching you to learn is douch more productive and less stressful than learning by my own mistakes!

That's because I already made the mistakes . . . in spades when I was first starting out.

Hey Cheryl you are awesome with your explanations Thank you so much for your calm and easy to follow instructions.

Thank you for this kind comment Michelle. I used to teach high school English in a couple of huge high schools outside of Detroit. It's always best to be calm when facing a room full of teenagers who aren't that thrilled about being there. Please come to cherylbrunette.com and join my email newsletter group. That's where I'm in closest touch with knitters.

hehe I am also a teacher, one thing that I wasn't getting is the stitches being pushed back behind the latches. Once I got a close up of that I was golden.

Some of the best learning videos, I have seen! Thanks!! I like that you give us the reasons for each procedure. I also have not seen anyone else explain the shapes of the garment pieces so well. If I were rating your videos by 5 stars, you would get a 7.

I cry 😭 1/2 way through one of the rows it just stopped knitting and the rest fell off. It's taken forever to reloop it and get it back on, then another row didn't knit at all, it just kinda landed on every 5th hook or so. Do you know what could have caused these issues and how I could preempt them in the future? It's a good thing that dwarfs aren't very particular, It's not a pretty picture. Lol.

Do you have a pattern for that tiger sweater? It's amazing!
@CherylBrunetteTV3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, no. I made it over 35 years ago and who knows where the source went. It was a magazine and I can't even remember the company. The sweater has also disappeared, though not after getting much wear and tear.

Hi Cheryl please may I ask, when I use the Bond the stitches look like crochet "square" stitches. How do I get the signature stocking stitch shape? Thanks
@CherylBrunetteTV3 жыл бұрын
Although stockinette sts are typically rectangles with the long side horizontal and the height about .67 to .75 of the width, there can be a great deal of variation in this. I have, in fact, seen almost square stockinette sts. That said, as long as you like the fabric you're making, there are no hard rules about the shape. Have you removed the knitting from the machine, "yanked it", and let it sit for at least 24 hours before measuring it? You can't get an accurate measurement until it has rested for some time. Other factors that might affect stitch shape are size of yarn/ size of keyplate and speed at which you knit. In general, this is a non-problem.

Cheryl what kind of bond knitting machine do you recommend buying today? should I buy the new version of the ultimate knitting machine or a vintage one?
@CherylBrunetteTV9 жыл бұрын
frank henderson Hi Frank. I recommend a vintage machine but it should be in good condition, of course. I have not used the newest iteration but I see many complaints and challenges that people have with them in my online groups. Other people are perfectly happy with the newer machines. The KnitSmart is my favorite version but the old blue BOND is still sturdy.
