We would plant some a few weeks earlier, that way all those first sets are pollinated.

Every American man and woman and child should watch this video. Americans don't need any more pasta and bread. Americans need squash to get healthy. Can you imagine if you substitute refined grain product with squash each time you eat pasta or bread? Medicad expense of this country will drop in half. Budget balanced.

I enjoyed the video, but help me with the math. He said he plants 14,000 plants per acre and each plant produces 7 pounds of squash. That is 98,000 pounds of squash per acre. Even at a low price of 25 cents per pound, that is $24,500 per acre, or nearly a quarter of a million dollars on ten acres. I can't imagine how that could be accurate, but if it is, I'll be growing ten acres of squash this year. So, what is the real-world gross and profit on an acre of squash?

First of all, the economics of squash aren't ANYWHERE near that good. I grow commercially, and could give you a more detailed breakdown if you'd like, but all things considered you'd be real lucky to profit $2,000 an acre when all the dust settles.

You have costs to the farm right off the top of the paycheck. So, your actual profit is much less

Hello Harris , I have a question if you can answer I would so truly appreciate ! What to you do to minimize the squash bugs being that you do many acres? I grow about 2 acres now but have no idea how to eliminate , minimize the squash bugs please help if possible thank you in advance .

we sprayed with a product named Supricide, not sure f this is still used? It killed the aphids. to stop the mildew we used copper dust.
