Idk I get wanting to tone him down how he treats Shera (screaming she's a dumb bitch when you first meet him) but he feels like a whole different character now.

It's part of his journey, as he learns at the end that the reactor was indeed faulty and apoligizes to Shera and live happy ever after, even naming his Advent Children ship after her.

Well Shinra is depicted as being way advanced with technology in the new one with everything from ver to combat simulators plus aircraft. The original came out in 1997 where the stuff were seeing now in remake and rebirth is supposed to represent our current times alas most of the stuff in this game tech wise is a pipe dream but we keep getting closer to that reality.

I feel like the 1997 Rufus and Shinra represented the tech at that time. He probably did need an aircraft but it wouldn’t make sense now because they can depict Shinra as a modern day corporation with money and funds galore.

Maybe it's way too soon to talk about this but here it goes: What Are You Guys Expecting Cid's Combat Skills/Combos To be? For me, i would love cid to have a very Airborne Combat Focus, I mean it's His Thing Man! The guy loves the air. I'm hoping for a Character the launches enemies to the air and they never touch the ground again, and if they throw in some dragoon Signature Abilities i would be very happy (Cid Poledance When?) I know cid leans more to the "Engineer" "Demoliton Expert" type character with bombs and Gagdets, but i dunno i think Spear Master also suits him pretty well What are you guys hoping to see?

He has a dragoon style in combat, so he will be doing jump abilities for sure. And i csnt wait for the dynamite and lighting it with his cigarette, I wish they add that. These characters are based off classic ff jobs. Cloud=knight, tifa=monk, barret=machinist, yuffie=ninja, caith=mage hybrid of green and blue and gambler, vincent and red are unique, and then cid=dragoon.

I can understand people being salty about the 180 of Cid's personality, but you do have tk remember that Remake/Rebirth is its own timeline. The OG Timeline still exists and this one is a change of pace in a lot of events. Cid is one of those and I like how hes still rough around the edges but he is trying his best to change.

He DID change in og FFVII. It's CALLED character development. He's supposed to have room to GROW, not be "trying to change" during your VERY FIRST MEETING. Also, a person would not have a completely different personality in another timeline. They would be the same person, making perhaps different decisions. Having them possess an entirely different personality makes no sense, even with the multiple timeline nonsense.

Got to keep in mind that the original art and character models from the original game made Cid look much older than he actually is, and they played up the "old man" tropes to a ridiculous degree. Most folks that never read the manual to additional materials assume he's anywhere between his late 40s to early 60s. Cid's actually only 32. I'm not really sure what you're expecting him to sound like, and if you think the voice is off, then you really need to take a road trip through the southern US. Plenty of folks in the 30-40 age range sound just like him here.

I think his voice is fine but I do think his character model needs aged up. Yeah I know what the manual says, no I don't give a damn, he looks better older. And besides this is FF. Characters look younger or older than they should all the time, or are we forgetting about Auron? Also smoking. The man smokes. Where's his pack? Don't tell me they're cutting that out for politically correct reasons. I'm not gonna be happy until I can play him lighting dynamite from his lip. But regardless, I just hope later in the 3rd game we actually get his story and get to see Cid's angry side. He has flaws, a dark side, and the jaded backstory of a broken dream that needs explored. I really do hope they don't ignore that just to make him the happy-go-lucky support, which I'm worried they're doing because if I remember the original, Cid was a lot more... bitter, cynical, and desperate when we first met him.
