I'm no expert, (although I do have Garifuna family in Livingston) but his history of how the Garifuna reached La Buga didn't sound like what I learned. The language has Arawak as well as French, Spanish and German influences. That aside, you have found one of the very best places in Central America. 17:17 the main spiritual ceremonies they have in these temples is called a Dugu and is something that can go on for days at a time

Awesome And we’ll done! One correction: in our Garifuna language, “Buyei” does not mean ghost. It is the title of the person who oversees and leads the ceremonies in the temple (Temple: Dabuyaba in the Garifuna language) He/she is the mediator between us and our ancestors and can communicate directly with them through their spirit helpers.
