Looking at Sissoko's facial expressions as he plays, you cannot but know that he's playing with his whole being and he has transcends this physical world into the extra terrestrial. By listening to this music, it makes me proud to be an African from Nigeria. This music soothes me and body, spirit and soul

As a brazillian, was a great surprise to hear this beautiful interpretation of "Asa Branca" played pretty well. Even more cause is a demostration of respect for my culture, as Pernambucano, like Luiz Gonzaga was.

Beautiful song performed by Ballake Sissoko, in my opinion, chef-d'oeuvre, with his kora. Music and soul through culture among people. Thanks for sharing your talent.

I used this music to regulate my cadence when I am on my long-distance half marathon training. Beautiful kora, I grew up with this musical instrument. A special lineage of the Mandinka people (jali) has an exclusive claim to instrument, and they have protected it very well way from its emergence, which has a special story to it of itself. The respect for Jali in Mandinka society is at a special elevated level. Our history is safely stored in their organic computer, the good and the bad each and every surname their ancestors and how they come to be, from times when humans start to live in settle societies. You are obligated to give a Jali anything he/she demands from you. Oooh, the beautiful female Jali, not adept with instrument, but that deficiency is compensated with melodious voice.
