Thank you. I just bought one after watching your video. I noticed you also use Olympus gear, good stuff. What is your wrist watch make if I may ask. Looks so cool.

Wonder if you've seen SIRUI AM-025K. Would be a great comparison imo, it's also only 2lb, but it's made out of carbon, maybe it's a bit more stable.

Looks like bento makes a similar style with much better leg adjustments, that top leg adjustment can make or break the system IMO.

I’ve had the Mefoto A1350 since ‘15, and, IMHO, it is the best bang for buck travel tripod. MeFoto is made by Benro, so, duh, they’re great. If you have a heavier camera, consider the A1350, ‘cause it’s a rock solid tripod, and not that much heavier than the Backpacker. And it fits in a carry-on bag, too.

Thanks a lot for this video. I was so convinced to buy it for my run-and-gun video shoots (yeah I know this tripod is more for photo), but the fact that it has just one knob 3:09 that wont allow some sort of free panning I backed out, so i'll stick for a while with my sirui, until another very short tripod - that can pan - is out in the market, from whatever manufacturer.

Ya, it's tough to find something this small with actual video capabilities I have been finding. Still, love this thing!

Just put a different head on it. It's got a standard mounting screw for the head.
@williamstatt86516 жыл бұрын
There are three "Torx" screws under the head mounting plate. You have to release these.

I wonder if you've seen the new Vanguard Veo 2 Go series. They are legit tripods, but fold down to 12.75 inches and range from 2-2.8 pounds.

@@DesYap Actually the thanks goes to you. Because of your good review I bought it. Mine is in sky blue color, as seen on the paper box cover of yours. Like it very much and is serving the purpose very well for me.

Since it seems this is no longer available, do you have a 2020 recommendation for something just as compact? I thought I had the found the perfect review until I realize the tripod was discontinued lol

When fully extended there is NO WAY that this is stable. Even with the center column halfway up and at that point it’s REALLY SHORT.

James Mason yeah, centre columns are a null point for me. Never use them

Very nice review of the MEFOTO BackPackAir tripod, Des! I'd compare it to the Oben CT-3535 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod, which was my "travel" model of choice for my relatively light Fuji X-Pro2 kit, that is, until ...I recently came across a unique and extremely high-quality travel tripod...the FLM "CP26 Travel Tripod". It has super-strong 10x Carbon Fiber legs (26 lb load capacity!) with well-made twist locks, and a ball head that has several unique features that I've not seen in my 35 years of photography using tripods...For example, the "Pan" function permits butter-smooth normal panning, but in addition, adds a 15-degree ratchet function that is fantastic for us landscape/panorama photographers! There is also a "Tilt" knob that locks the ball head so that only one vertical/up/down plane is available. And finally, there is a "lock" function that locks the ball head from panning/turning, so that it can easily be unscrewed and/or mounted solidly. The kit comes with very well-made screw-on metal spikes, and folds up to a compact 15.5" for travel. Quite ingenious and precision design overall, and highly recommended for travel!! Bottom line: This FLM tripod simply exudes Quality. Here's the link to that awesome tripod: www.flmcanada.com. Thanks, and I think you'll find the FLM CP26 Travel Tripod perfect for Panoramic (and all) photography!
