The point of my comment is Meg as an artist isn't as popular as someone of her caliber should be. She is very talented, her lyrics are very good, and her music is well produced. Yet, she isn't as popular as other contemporary artists. The audio release of this song from a month ago only has 178,000 views, her most popular video on here from 4 years ago hasn't even reached 10 million, and her debut album peaked at number 79 on the billboard 100. To me that's underappreciated.

How did I get to be 65 years old, listen to rock ALL my life, and just now here of Meg Myers? This girl just surpassed Amy Lee in my book. Thank you to what ever brought her to my ears!
@brearty10 ай бұрын
The illumination guided Meg to your radiant essence: In response to Mark, "Jesus proclaimed, 'Aren't there twelve hours in daylight? One who walks during the day does not stumble, for they see the world's light.'" Why is this significant? To understand, we turn to numerical interpretation, as it aligns with the given context. Consider the song "Numb" (a nod to 'number' via an alphabetic acronym), symbolizing being unaware or concealed from enlightenment. Converting "Numb" to its alphabetic positions yields a product of 7,644 from the letters (14, 21, 13, and 2). Engaging with the alphabet leads us to the digits within words. We observe 4112, closely connected to you and your identity. Subtracting 4112 from 7644 results in: 3532. Drawing nearer, and with your acknowledgment of the daytime's trustworthiness, coupled with your age of 65, we reduce it by the temporal grains to arrive at: 3467. Recollecting your revelation a month prior: "How am I just now discovering this?" prompts us back to the song's debut, marking its place as the second track on her sophomore album. Hence, we handle three additional figures, 122, deducting from temporal span to reach 3345. Yet, how do we approach the 12th hour despite the sum of 3+3+3+3 equating to 12? Given that L is the twelfth alphabet letter and the twelfth verse discusses Lazarus being unaware or "numb" to daylight, We delve into Enlightenment. The force that introduced Meg into your existence, thus, by the 12th epoch or the glow of my self-constructed revelation, we seek the answer: Subtracting 12 from 3345, as if the cycle of precipitation, returns us directly to you, Mr. Waters. 3333. Not really that big of a deal but I heard whisper of a track having to do with the 12 th hour . would make since given. Meg recent return from her 33 birthday walk about which was the age at Jesus baptism. Will Meg reach the final hour in her career before she decides to dedicate the rest of her life back to that which she inherited the light yet because of the darkness crowding out the light and unfortunate circumstances bringing Meg back to where she began to loose faith? We will let Little J from Smoky Mountain get out of that 12 wheeler and tell you why she decided to dedicated her music to helping people feel emotion.

This is a sacred album to me, one of the albums that saved my life. Meg has been and grown along my side. I feel like we were affected and processing in sync. I would love to let her know that I'm proud of her, not the talent per se, the growth. It's hard, especially when reinforcement of other's expectations are the only voices you hear over yours. She's come in contact with her voice several times, and you can see it crawling out her walls to greet her. It's remarkable. And sadly not enough people are told how beautifully far they've come. We need to tell each how proud we are of each other more often.

What I love about the video is how it seems to portray how the people around you, bosses, family, teachers, ECT, can control your life. Being 7 years clean off heroin and the needle, I know all to well the feeling of no longer being just myself, especially with my family and friends constantly trying to steer me in different directions. Like the songs says, I know they want the best for me, but sometimes I just want to scream "FREEDOM" like William Wallace and run. The feeling of being numb from no longer controling your own life and emotions, this song hits perfectly.

I just think she means what she says and doesn't care if it could get uncomfortable for someone else. This is is her journey, so why shouldn't it be honest, forthcoming and emotional. Some of the best music brought to you by one of the best artists out there. Powerful.

This video really captures the way that I feel a lot of the time. People are so invasive and forceful. Nobody can live and let live. They think that I should care about their opinions and take their advice. They think that they have a right to ask questions about my personal choices. All I want to do is run from people.

When you hear the music exploding when she says the word "numb". And the music contrasts with her way of saying that word. It's almost as if the music screams for her (for you). Also the scene where she runs and the camera seems as if it's falling, I literally felt like I was falling, I felt trapped, like running was useless. Also I felt like the truth of those facts set me free. She's amazing!

At first I was annoyed at how she didn’t prolong the “numb” part but your interpretation made me realize it represents the outer voice while the music screams for her instead What a wonderful analysis for a beautiful song 💕
@tylerzwong31075 жыл бұрын
It took once for me to define that interpretation, and once I mean, when her song released for the first time. I can't say that words which you had just said it correctly. As if I'm singing & playing the 1st chorus, normal pose, 2nd chorus, screaming pose & 3rd chorus, crying and overwhelming pose, just like what Meg had shown in this video. Urgh, I love her and her music

There really isn't a song of hers that I dont love. She describes feeling in her music that you can't express on your own. She is truly an original masterpiece ❤

I just heard this song on the radio and it reminded me that nostalgic Pixies/Radiohead vibes. I love this so much. Thank you for your music, and greetings from Russia.
@andrewchaney29385 жыл бұрын
Your Pixies comparison is dead on. The opening bass riff is very similar to the chord progression in "Where is my Mind" and the underlying staccato is similar to "Gigantic".

Meg has grown as a singer/songwriter/musician so rapidly since her debut album. She's well on her way to being one of the greatest artists of the 21st century. Love her!!!!

I waited so long for this song to come out. Years later, it still hits like it was day 1 of release on Apple Music. Meg does an amazing job choreographing this! Many themes here, but my take is her display of trying to live a normal life without everyone’s interference. Thus making her “Numb” to life and accepting the melancholy it entails… Hits home! Her running into the hills as a last ditch effort to escape is more powerful than any words I could muster.

This hits hard. I'm struggling a lot with anxiety & depression & in my community it's not very well understood. I just get tired of feeling stuck...or like I'm running in place. I get told I'm not praying enough or reading my Bible enough (& no, I don't want to leave & become an Athiest, I'm happy being a Christian) I just wish life wasn't so....chaotic ? But also mundane ? I don't even understand how to explain it but this video just...that's it. And you try to explain to the people around you what's going on & they just look at you. Your husband just looks at you. Your friends just look at you. They don't get it.

first time ever hearing of this artist. as someone who grew up on the sweetspot of 90's alternative rock, i hear a lot of people trying to forge that sound and something about this really just nails it, but in this effortless it was just how it organically happened way. gonna check this album out. love her demeanor, raw and honest like fiona apple w/weezer quirkiness and big beautiful anthem sized chorus. fantastic vid too.

Being numb is the worst thing imaginable for an artist. They must have feelings, and the freedom to explore outside the box, not trapped in some cookie cutter template. Well done Meg. Love your stuff.
@NdustrialN85 жыл бұрын
This is probably one of my favorite songs from Meg Myers as well as ever, but it’s sometimes hard to listen to/watch because of the emotions expressed. I don’t know if I’d say I have depression or a chemical imbalance as I’ve never been diagnosed, but I do live a lot of my life in a numb & cloudy state. I’ve learned to live with it & even be happy at times, but it’s always an active thing I must do to not go back, & even sometimes that’s not enough. It sucks when people say that I don’t know what people go through because I’ve found a way to deal with it, or that it’s less because of that. But this really captured what I feel of that almost robotic state, the frustration of people trying to help when you’ve heard it all before & know what you need to do, or the frustration of objectively knowing what’s wrong but feeling powerless against it. Great job, beautiful song, & beyond talented artist.
