Thank you, Meg Myers, for showing real passion. I'm really tired of the way women's sexuality is depicted in modern music, be it pop or rock or whatever. I love this song and this video because I've always felt weird for experiencing similar (lustful?) passion toward people I loved. Women are sometimes expected to be passive or 'following' the lead of the man. If they are sexually assertive and active some label them 'whores' or 'crazy'. I think this video is about female sexuality only - the other man or woman isn't even shown. When I first discovered this song, I realized that I'm okay and other women feel this intense, almost exhausting passion as well. This really changed the way I saw my sexuality. Thank you so much for this.

I know it's already been said, but I'll say it too. I'm so grateful this song exists, because it debunks the myth of women's lack of s*x drive. Women experience feelings of desire as intensely as men do, but are afraid to talk openly about it, because society wants to portray them as "sensitive" "pure" and "innocent". Yes, women's fantasies are usually more emotionally oriented, but that doesn't mean they don't often think of others in a raw, sexual way. The song perfectly describes craving physically someone you can't have, and therefore using your imagination to get a glimpse of what you want. It's not "twisted" or "creepy" - just desperate and lustful. The line "How do you want me?" indicates she'd do anything in order to be desired in return and make her fantasies come true. I wish other women/artists would also be that assertive about their sexuality, rather than being silenced by social stereotypes.

She has amazing talent and a very unique social view that lends itself well to a certain unique niche of music/pop culture. I think she's great, however I really think that she was born in the wrong era. I think she would have torn shit up in the 90's. But she seems to be so pigeon-holed into catering her music to the style that's most popular (being forced down people's throats by music labels) these days. Today's music is soulless and often tends to just ramble on. There's very little in the way of structure towards an actual song, or even a story. You haven't heard of Meg Myers because she's caught in between music worlds. She's not 'blah' enough to really make it in today's music world. There's too much raw emotion; her songs generally just don't float along like the popular crap that does today. It's also exceedingly difficult to get big in music today if you're presenting something that isn't in-line with the music labels' designs for pop-culture. It would be great to see her make a real effort to break away from that crap. But a lot of her music is too bubblegum-popish. Many of her songs are based on overly-simplistic beats that simply repeat throughout the entire song. Her songs are too overproduced. And her latest image makeover trying to jam a visage of a modern pop diva down everyone's throats is nauseating. She can connect with certain groups of people through her unique lyrics and dark tones. But she's not going to win the people over who like that shit by presenting herself as a modern smurf. I often get a bit sad when I discover music like Meg's that is amazing, yet never gets really big because it simply came out in the wrong musical era. It's always intriguing to wonder what could have been. I think she'd be best served if she made an executive decision to go one way or the other. She needs to either embrace the mainstream bubblegum-pop culture that will make her an everyday name and become like Stefani Germanotta, or embrace her true nature and become more like a P.J. Harvey. She's just kinda floating around somewhere in between the 2 nowadays.

@daverich24993 жыл бұрын
The fact that hardly anyone has heard of this song in comparison to other less talented artists (views are not people, 26+ million views is probably less than 10 million people because, as with all music channels, a very large percentage of views are repeat views from fans, and this vid is around 8 years old, and the older the vid the more views are repeats, do the maths) and even less know who sings it, and her cd's don't seem to exist in record stores here in the UK, and it took me like 7 years to discover Meg which i would never of done if not for a youtube recommendation, says to me her original record label have done an awful job of promoting her, and i'm not sure if her new label is doing any better. She should have millions of subs and fans. Sexiest song iv'e heard , sung by one of the sexiest artists iv'e seen and one of my new fave female artists, so much talent in comparison to a lot of the rubbish that's popular nowadays. (Orig comment was edited because people don't understand views are not individual people, especially in music where a huge amount is repeat views that increase over the years and sent replied saying 26 million people is a lot)

@Kalnaur4 жыл бұрын
I found this artist about two days ago, and I've listened to every song she has on offer here. I feel like this is my favorite song of hers, and I think it has the most to do with the movement of control in the lyrics. By that I mean that at first she's in control; she's talking about just what she wants and intends to do. Then she transitions into saying she hopes you'll feed her to sate her hunger, she starts to transition power to the other person, and then in the chorus, the other person seems to have control, has the choice. How do you want me is a question, a prompt, a decision, and then she seizes control back with her second verse, this time more dangerous and deadly, and again cedes control through the transition to the chorus. She finally hits with wanting to feel you, wanting it all, and it's more than clear, the request of how do you want me isn't her releasing control after all. It's letting you choose your heaven, or more possibly via the context of the lyrics, your hell. And what makes the journey worth it is the control and lapse in her voice as she sings. The aggression or whispering tone not letting up on the feeling that everything within the song is dangerous. The harpsichord/string/dulcimer-style instrumentation helps to give the whole song a sort of Gothic appeal, a haunted nature to it. It is one of the most darkly enjoyable songs I've heard since my teens, that being over 20 years ago. All of her songs are quality, make no mistake. I'm not saying this is her only good song, far from it. It's just the one that I enjoy the most. (Also, this entire interpretation may not even align with her intent. It's what I hear when I listen to this song.)

Her music has so much tramua, if you're in a bad state, there's usually a song that can't let out your emotions and anger. Meg Myers manages just that, something about her is so twisted and messed up, her music is so dark and vulnerable that listening to her describes exactly how you're feeling. Not sure if it's a good thing that I am this sort of situation…

If you like Meg Myers you may like our new single 'I'll Rip Your Heart Out' too, just give us a chance, we *won't* let you down! We just want a chance and our music to be heard. Thank you so much for your time.. have a great day^^ THUMBS UP if you liked it, so others can see too :)

@Brendon Kennedy if you feel the need to be mean to a stranger on the internet who didn't do any harm, then you are an idiot

Still her best song in my opinion. It's october 2018 now and I can't believe, that she isn't bigger yet.

Her voice with the lyrics, direction of the video, guitar solo towards the end make this such a work of art.
