Yes, there is EWJ on Megadrive/Genesis but Mega CD version had extra level, better music and extended levels. It's more like "Special Edition" of original game.

Daniel DeMayo Sort of. The lead programmer, I believe, worked on that game. Some of the other devs might have as well. The lead designer/animator would take some of the devs to create The Neverhood while the programmer stayed behind to work on MDK and Wild 9. At least, that's what I know.

This video convinced me to lay the money down (all $4 of it) to get a new copy of the Windows 95-compatible special edition. Used to have a copy of it but I don't know what happened to it.Even if it doesn't work it'll be worth buying just to get the soundtrack.

*I forgot to mention there was a GameGear version, which is essentially the same as the Master System version.* As long as they're licensed, they're just clones. Else it's a pirate, or more specifically, a bootleg, which rips of the original game/s.

I had MD version, This one has little changed and little bit longer levels, minor tweaks, better sound quality, graphics is slightly better, but not a whole lot. This game isn't just music change, but more like an update to original version. Of course, Mega CD had Sonic CD and Lunar (only two really good games, I know and remember), and whole lot of crappy ones, but some of them were fun to play, and were slightly different from their cartridge counterparts.

Doc Duodenum is a lot easier to kill if you use the whip. Otherwise, he's really hard. I definitely agree there.

If I remember correctly, the whip does more damage but it probably is easier to use the plasma gun simply because you can keep a safe distance from him but it takes longer. It's been a while since I've played the Genesis version.
