I remembered when I was around 10 or 11, my cousins and kept playing this game all day. We started to do a tournament, I made it to the finals. It was me vs my older cousin. We were toe to toe all the way to the 12th round. Our face and body meters were shaded half way evenly. And I knocked him out. That was one hell of a match.

I never got a chance to play this game. I had Real Deal Boxing, and I loved that game. This game looks like it made a ton of improvements. Also, having the real heavyweight champions of the past was a really cool touch. I might have to go check this out sometime. Also, i love the callback to The Beast from the previous game.

I am in the same boat, we only had Evander Holyfields real deal boxing. Never even heard of this one till now, but it looks awesome and there does seem to be improvements. I'mt definitely gonna have to pick this one up.

It was one of those games where we played for hours on end just beating the holy crap out of each other. I was decent, but my cousins actually got good and I couldn't keep up, but still had a blast. Played this back in like '99. Got my character all the way to the top of the rankings and fought the no. 1 guy. Then Holmes' head popped up and said something like 'You had a good run, kid. But now it's all over' then the game reset itself. When I tried to start up again, my file was erased entirely.

I still have this game and my original Sega Genesis from 1989. It works perfectly and I still got my Sega joystick with rapid fire my dad bought me for Christmas 1992. Best boxing game ever. The names of the 30 contenders are great they are burnt into my brain. I'll randomly text a name to one of my brothers and they immediately know what's up. I remember Lightning Lou would for some reason give me hell. My good buddy had problems with Julio Stachos.
