Considering how messed up the lore is on Mega Evolution, we can retcon the dex entries that says Mega Evolution is painful.

Or maybe give them a item or food that takes the pain away when friendship is boosted, or the the more they evolve the pain becomes unnoticeable.

I always headcanon'd it as the Rotom-dex being jealous of the Pokémon that can Mega Evolve and just started making up lies about the process being painful to discourage the player from Mega Evolving those Pokémon since Rotom can't Mega itself.

I tend to use Japanese names to easily say the names better. I have gotten used to it, even since the Wings are now called Feathers, matching the Japanese-to-English translation. Names like the Koban, Ofuda, and dokidoki that do not have language-equivalent words are best kept as they are.

Applying Occam’s razor: 1. Fairy Type (Pink Pink Pink) introduced in Gen 6 2. Mega Evolution introduced in Gen 6. 3. When a Mega stone is activated, PINK light emanates from the ball/cocoon where the Mega transformation occurs. 4. Laverre City is introduced in Gen 6 - wherein a large tree with a clock that has 13 Numeral Hours sits atop the tree. The City itself implies that there’s some sort of mystical power that has leaked through a dimension that occurs during the 13th hour of the day cycle and is invisible to Humans. 5. It is implied from Leverre City that this mystical energy may be able to radiate and cause other originally non-fairy Pokémon to take on the Fairy type throughout the PokéEarth. 6. AZ’s Floette is a part of the signature Fajry evolution trio introduced in Generation 6, and Native to Kalos. Another link between Fey Powers and Mega Evolution? 7. It seems far too planned for the introduction of both Mega Evolution and a new Type to be a mere coincidence. Eg. Look at Gen 2: we can deduce that that the Dark type was introduced along with the Day/Night cycle gimmick for a purpose. Eevee needs Night to fall in order to evolve. Murkrow only found at Night. Etc.

I’m, theory about wild Mega Pokémon is very interesting. It’s reminds a Mega Wave from 19th movie (Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel).

I think it's gonna pay "homeage" or whatever that word is, to x and y. so we will get 3 starter regional forms. and then like in x and y later through the game you are able to get bulbasaur charmander or squirtle which can mega evolve. for those reasons I think we will be able to late game get a free fenniken froakie or chesnaught with the ability to mega evolve

Legends Z-A should copy the Generation 6 art style because Legends: Arceus copied the Generation 4 art style when relating to a region. The Generation 9 art style is already outdated the moment that even Japan calls it "old and ugly".

@@valentinchappa6702 The problem stems from how the characters look like they are from a different series. People are able to recognize the Ken Sugimori art style and even the Kouki Saitou art style as Pokémon. Imagine if the Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Metroid games were to ditch what made people remember about the character designs. It will alienate them.

I wonder if it'll go back to the 3k years ago when the war started and be the impact that made the difference in the events taking place as is, then be able to time jump to the years of when paldea had the events take place and have that tie in. You could potentially meet the professors of gen 9 this way, but that might be too much, but then again, USUM did the portal thing letting you go into realities like Guzzlords where everyone/thing was consumed, so it's not entirely a stretch. And the events of gen 6(distant past/ancient past) tieing into Arceus,ASOR, gen 9 would be great. Small side not, Alpha(the beginning) Sapphire and Omega(the end) Ruby having Megas in this timeline is a neat(and possible) link to Z-A, because of the title of Z(zygard) -A(Anonymous) structured to be from the End brought to beginning(initial point of major event taken to current time of events) I'm very invested in time travel, theory crafts of pokemon lore like this.

Then come in some people who claim that Mega Evolutions are adult. There is nothing adult about different forms on the same species, especially in fantasy. Even I agree that shiny forms should have colors different from the normal color forms.

@@therealdrogane Sex dimorphic Pokémon are especially fun because they add immersion to the series and world without being too much like reality. I could care less about completing the Pokédex that includes all the forms including the shinies. Different species, and completing the Region Pokédex are fine enough.

I used to like mega evolution, but now knowing the gen 6 box legendaries will most likely get a alternate form locked behind megas is what makes me mad.

@therealdrogane because with most games like b2w2 we got the kyurem forms, usum necrozma forms, swsh box legends use the rusted sword/shield, and PLA gave us origin form Palkia and dialga. All of which use items. So if the gen 6 legends get Megas, instead of alternate forms like the rest, it would only be locked to ZA.

The fact that mega evolution is painful to some pokemon. Does explain why it's temporary. But having strong bonds to mega evolve, that seems like baloney to me. I was able to mega evolve a monster the second I captured it. It was a newborn Kanagskan. If that doesn't describe hardly any bond at all. Then I don't know what will. It can't be strong bonds. Due to the games being in a separate universe.

As much as i hate mega evolution, i do think they should give a definition explanation for it. Oh and give the gen 6 starters the gimmick that they were denied. If there are mixed starters, give them the regional evolutions while gen 6 starters has megas.

@@aidenbrenneman2302 they were given to many pokemon that didn't need it. From pokemon like Gengar to Alakazam, to Salamence and Latios. Mega evolution is also limited to only a handful of pokemon. Gen 6 pokemon were also neglected from having the very gimmick that they were introduced with in XY. And mega evolution just comes across as a cheap power boost.
