Currently running at $263 loose, I'd say there's plenty of people out there looking for this one. I love how I got this itch about having the box... kind of like when I thought that I had the Clay Fighter box. Complete version is over a grand? Hmmm... not that I ever want to part with my physical library. I mean, the fact that this emulation play through was randomly freezing, it is a great reason to choose original for playing sessions.

Just so you know, Keiji Inafune has said on record that they purposefully made this Wily the hardest Wily last boss. They designed him around you needing to a full stock of E tanks- er- E cans, so don't feel bad for using a couple

You have jump at the right time in the right locations to line up the balls on the first 2 moves so they create an opening and then snake through the tiny gap. Being able to learn the patterns, calculate the trajectories, and actually execute would take a lot of deaths. You only get 3 attempts and have to do the boss rush over again unless you farmed money for lives. Every sane person just brute forced it. I'm a mega buster only kind of guy and even I said F that noise.

No shame at all on using E-tanks on the final boss, Wily Capsule 7 is notorious as being one of, if not THE, most BS fights in the entire series. The most common advice I've seen for dealing with him is "bring full E-tanks and try to get hit with the yellow bullet since that one hurts the least."

It is very hard and depends on position. Before he fires you gotta position giving you more space to dodge it, and then its 2-3 moves to dodge that. Slide helps a lot, so indeed jetpack is a detriment here.

Oh man, I can’t wait to watch this full video later. It’s amazing to see anyone play this game for the first time in 2024 with fresh eyes. This game got dunked on during its original release because it came out after both Mega Man X and X2 and was so vastly different from those games and from the first six classic games. I got it as a gift at the time and liked it enough, but I also kinda fell into the “feels too different” mentality. Even when I played it in the Anniversary Collection on PS2, my feelings were still that the game was okay; however, playing it now on the Legacy Collection or on the original cartridge, I find it to be an absolute joy. I love the music, the secrets, the boss fights, and the graphics. I can’t wait to see how Ryu feels about the game after completing it for the first time.

If you play Megaman & Bass just know that if you play as Bass it's hard mode and if you play as Megaman it's ultra hard mode.

This is a timeless classic. I remember struggling w/the attack at the end too, you have to bait away, slide, cancel the slide, then jump straight up so they go under you. It's tough.

This is my fave Mega Man game. So glad to see you play it! But yeah. the very end is pretty rough. It's been said that they made the boss that way on purpose to make it as hard as possible. Other than that. the music and aesthetic is great. Best boss fights in the series IMO, at least for the most part. If you do play Mega Man 8 my only advice is to use the special weapons because all of them in that game have some good utility (and you can still use the buster when they're equipped.) It's a fun game with some questionable design moments, but if you give it a chance it's a great time for sure.

Mega Man & Bass is a part of the classic series (Mega Man 1 - 11), but being the only game without a numbered title and having a Japanese only release on the SNES after Mega Man had already left the NES for the Play Station, its relatively forgotten. The only official English release it ever got was on GBA and the screen crunch makes the game very unfair at times. It came out between 8 and 9, so consider checking it out. There are fan translations.

Yeah, I hope Ryu finds a way to play Rockman (Mega Man) & Forte (Bass). It is easily the hardest of the classic series. I agree the screen crunch kind of ruins the GBA port, but the Super Famicom version is fine. The game gets really difficult if you're playing as Mega Man, though.

Congrats, Ryu! This game can be a bit punishing for a first-timer! Though, the Robot Masters are some of the most pathetic when you find out their weakness. Don't feel dirty about using E Tanks in the final Dr. Wily fight, though. It is easily the worst Wily fight in the entire series! It can be really difficult to dodge his elemental orbs. This game is also crammed with secrets besides the ones you discovered. There is an upgrade to the Super Adapter in Turbo Man's stage by using Rush Search at a specific spot, there is alternate music in Shade Man's stage, and even a secret versus mode you can unlock with a password.

With Guts man, you are meant to fight him using the Super Adapter Rush Armor to avoid his grab. Alternatively, you have to shoot his wheels with the mega buster in a half second rhythm to slow him down. Wily fight, you need to use slide alot to decrease your hitbox significantly. Alternatively again, you can look for the fire projectile and purposely jump into it while mashing jump and direction inputs to put out the fire taking two to three units of damage and get longer invulnerability frames to avoid all other projectiles.

Ah yes MM7! I enjoyed every last minute of this video! Overall seeing you play this game reminded me of my first time playing it! The bosses and level design were spot on the money! And they even went a bit extra with the poses. Love the music. Slash Man in my opinion is not a skill issue. The issue with his boss fight is that he spams those glob things for a vast majority of the fight, and even when he’s not using it, his slash wipe thing (the Sonic boom you were referring to) has such a large hitbox. The wily capsule fight is not a skill issue, it was poorly designed. From what I heard the devs intentionally designed it that way! XD Trust me Ryu, if you thinks that bad, just wait until you check out the final bosses in Rockman & Forte (Megaman and Bass for the super famicon), mainly King 2 X_X. Megaman 8 is underrated. I think you’ll definitely enjoy the game, with its music, level design, bosses, and mechanics. Overall I think the game just focuses on being fun rather than super challenging. But yeah, I can’t wait to see how you’ll react to “Dr. Wowy😂” And also as most of us are, we are definitely looking forward to you playing Rockman & Forte!! 🤣

I like this Mega Man. The way the style is like reminds me of a Japanese anime. They did a good job with the pixel art style in this game. I like how big the sprite is for Mega Man, enemies and the robot masters. The soundtrack for this game is also good! The game is definitely good too! I like how this game allows you to fight Rock's brother Proto Man and then he rewards you with his shield afterwards. I also like the design for the Super Mega Man Rush armor. He uses a rocket punch attack and hovers temporarily! It looks cool!
