One thing I will say about the "Wily Fails" sequence is, when I first played, I was hoping Mega would give Wily an in-depth dressing down about all the scummy things he's done since the original game. Something like... _(Shows Wily defeated for the 1st time)_ *"This is where you first went wrong, when you stole Dr. Light's Robot Masters and reprogrammed them to cause chaos!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 2nd time)_ *"Then you built eight new Robot Masters just to try and defeat me!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 3rd time)_ *"Then you deceived us into thinking you'd changed, only to steal Gamma from Dr. Light!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 4th time)_ *"Then you kidnapped Dr. Cossack's daughter Kalinka and blackmailed him into doing your bidding!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 5th time)_ *"Then you framed Proto Man for Dr. Light's abduction using your Dark Man robot!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 6th time)_ *"Then you posed as Mr. X and hosted a fighting tournament to steal the contestants! After that, we finally put you in prison..."* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 7th time)_ *"...until you broke out and ordered Bass to steal the plans for the Super Adapter!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the 8th time)_ *"After that, you tried to use dangerous Evil Energy to corrupt all the robots in the world!"* _(Shows Wily defeated for the Bassth time)_ *"And after that, you built King and staged a phony robot rebellion!"* I feel like all that would have been more interesting to read than "And this time!" eight times.

Mega Man Powered Up shows all 8 still alive at the end. If you defeat them using only the Mega Buster, they don't explode completely and Light restores them back to normal.

It's stated that Mega Man never damages his opponent's IC chip if he can help it, so they can be rebuilt later. Safe to assume most of the Robot Masters he destroys are rebuilt and reprogrammed, especially those built by someone other than Wily (and possibly even some built by him). That would be more in-keeping with Light and Mega Man's personalities.
