Mega Man Comparisions in Virtua Unlimited Project

I managed to see this and I just realized that the NPC that replenishes R-Tanks is HanX. For those who are unaware of who HanX is: They're a VERY popular Mega Man X fanartist overseas who has contributed to many fan projects over the years. It's very nice they made a nod to them in this game!

That's their actual in game name, so it's more than a nod, it's actually them. I think it might have been a backer reward. Might have to look them up.

The gameplay similarities make sense. One of the programmer’s was Ridley HungrZ. The same dude who made the ZX prequel fan game.

The foot dive is a reminiscent to Inti Creates' 1 of few masterpieces which is Gunvolt, especially Luminous Avenger IX where we use Copen/Acura as the protagonist(He's once 1 of the opponent in Gunvolt 1 but in 2nd game he's playable & got his own story as well). Copen has that attack to mark the opponent so his bullets will homing to the marked opponent. The "skill cutscene" is also reminds me of Gunvolt as well. I love Gunvolt because i think it's 1 of a few successful "Megaman Successor", hope VUP can also get the same moniker, this looks promising

I've only played the first one, so I didn't know that was how Copen worked. Definitely thought of Gunvolt when I saw the support specials, though.

@@ExploDjinn Copen when playable is quite different than when he's the enemy in GV1 because he use no shield. But instead, he's agile & plays in mid-air a lot more. His foot dive is his bread & butter, for attacking & maneuver. The difference between Copen in GV2 & iX is that Copen in GV2 got more melee-mid range special weapon but in IX he got more utility weapons. In iX2 however, Copen got a buzz saw as 1 of his primary weapon

I just finished the game and I noticed how the game loves the mmz mmzx and the gunvolt series (which the gv series is one of my favourite series of all time and my top 3 favourite video games are the mainline gunvolt games) what I noticed is there are sp skills like in the gv series (kana even does the same pose as gv when using a sp skill) and a lot of boss moves are from the gv series

I remember liking it but it's been very many years. I found it funny how much they pulled from Classic MM.
