Mobile phones and retro games: In case of Sonic games - ABSOLUTELY yes, mainly due to easy-to-use controls (a d-pad and a jump button, both of which can be resized or hidden) and great mobile-only Whitehead remasters. In every other case - NO.

The MMX port isn't *that* bad. It was playable enough, but the classic games were awful. Also, disagree in the controls part. Games *can* have good controls on a mobile device.

The least I can say about the X mobile game is that, unlike the classic series mobile games, it's music is on point. X was my first mega man game, but I still would never want to play any mega man game (or any decent game for that matter) on the horrors that are mobile lol.

Have you ever played Capcom's Super Puzzle Fighter for PlayStation or PSP? They kept releasing it on different platforms like Xbox Live Arcade and butchered that game too. I see Robbie the Robot for the NES. Could you actually ever get that thing to work with any game?

Great job on the video, Josh. I appreciate all the hard work it takes to do the greens teen features and the split screen comparison. I was not a huge megaman fan, but my husband is/was and so are his RPG gamer buddies from college. I have tried to play some of the games with the D pad controller on the flat glass and it sucks ass. And the buttons are too damn close together. Great video review on some not so gr a at games. stick with the retro nes, I guess? oh, also major props on the mention of the slow music. I was a big band geek back in the day, and I notice things like that when you KNOW a tune and someone just fucks it up :/

Okay so.. Dancing with Ghosts (DwG for short) - Your video has been very informative. First off I'd like to mention that your claim that cellphone controls cannot be precise is an absolute statement of lunacy. People who say that don't understand that controllers aren't precise by default. It was the standard and only existing solution, you learned to use it, learned to get used to it. I've beaten Mega Man X6 on Extreme with touch controls only and it wasn't a big deal, I know you're expressing your point of view but I personally despise and am annoyed by this widespread mentality that cellphone controls for games aren't prescise, it's just not the truth. I'm done defending mobile controls now lol. I also decided to buy the ports for my own curiosity. On my end, I do not experience the audio alterations such as the slow downs and such. On another note, Robot Masters and Reploids are not the same thing. Robot Masters are for the classic Mega Man games. Reploid means Replica Android, which a term to describe the futuristic / modern reploids from the Mega Man X universe. Thank you for the informative entertainment and for carefully showcasing so much content about all the 6 games. I may criticize but this doesn't mean your video has gone unappreciated. hey guy just a quick thought try downloading nostalgia nes on your phone and use a controller.. theres on screen controls but theyre not a controller... oh theres also controlling over wifi but that requires another phone ... i personally like nes and super nes on android ...it takes the trial and error out of buying vintage games...seriously who hasnt bought a vintage game with cool looking label but then it sucked

Great review. I dont know that this is true to anyone but me, but I havent gotten any frame rate problems while playing on my phone, and the music is running as it should as well. Maybe they fixed it since this review was originally made or something, I dunno. The only real problem I found with the mobile games was the fact that you can't connect a bluetooth controller for some reason. That really anoys the crap out of me

On the versions I have the framerate is still 20 instead of 60 and to increase it you have to increase the game speed, but yeah, the music's fixed.

Reason why MM5 is rarer is cause chuds make it rare and also it was closer to the NES lifespan so that also is a factor so they printed less.

I played all the mobile Megaman games, it's not really comfortable with the controls but when I was playing I didn't have a slower music and laggy frames. Honestly how could they frick up port of NES games? what pisses me off is that you could run the nes roms on retroarch 100% fine so I know Capcom could have tried harder to make these ports worth it. Edit: I'm just going to pirate the mobile mega man games because I have all the main line mega man games on my nintendo switch 1- 11 via the mega man legacy collection, and I'm not going to pay for a bad ports of games I already own.

They Robot masters, Reploids are next generation robots started by dr light before he died. A the rest of Rrploids were created a 100 years later using x's blue prints after the events of Megaman classic , during the mega man X series. And yes the controls are bad, I'm glad I have the legacy collection on the Nintendo switch.

the music is slower cause it's a PAL version of the game. I think Japan uses PAL system probably The frame rate is terrible in the mobile version

No, PAL is used by Europe, as far as I know.

Japan uses NTSC. The PAL versions also had their music and sfx optimized for the region so that isn't an issue.

Did you seriously call Shadow Man a Reploid and start with Elec Man's stage? First off, they aren't reploids, they are called Robot Masters, and personally, I recommend starting on Bomb Man's stage.

If you'd play the originals you'd know something is extremely off with these. The classic games are 20FPS, Mega Man X's graphics look like crap and are really inconsistent, and they changed the level design and split it into different screens whereas levels on the SNES were all seamless with no need for mid-level screen transitions between each section as it's already all loaded up.

Dancing with Ghosts just use a joy-con through Bluetooth that should fix the mobile touch screen problem. But I also got Android so I have lots of customization options for roms
