Thanks a lot, this guide inspired me to start Mega Man 1 again, and I just defeated the Yellow Devil. No pause exploit, no quick saves. I went to the beginning of the stage after every game over, and it was annoying. However, it was super fun to learn the pattern and super rewarding to finally take that yellow thing down. Standby for updates, I hope the rest of the game won't take long. Upd: I finished it. Boy was it close, I was down to my last life. Both Wily machines weren't difficult at all, but I found it hard to keep my cool and have enough health by the time I got to the finale. Anyway, I'm real proud of myself for beating an NES game with no saves, and a pretty hard one at that. Your guides are great, you make it look really easy.

Every boss you can pause buffer as you shoot them. One shot, one kill. Pretty easy

I remember being unbelievably frustrated at that splitting cyclops monster near the end. It's amazing how much patience we had when a handful of NES cartridges was your entire video game library back then.

The Mega Man series were typically games that were rented. They were very much games that one could win in three days. First day figuring out how to beat each of the eight bosses. Second day doing so in the most efficient way to prepare for the final stages. Third day beating Dr. Wily. Worst case scenario, you wrote down your password, and rented the game again to beat it the next weekend. People seem to forget that most games were rented not owned. The NES didn't have many games designed to take a month or more to win. That concept didn't become typical until the 64 bit era, which is why they introduced memory cards.

Love seeing all my old favorite childhood games in this series of yours! I never knew that everyone thought they were that difficult. Battletoads, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Batman, Megaman series, TMNT, and Blaster Master were some of my favorites! I remember the YoNoid game being tough at parts, Festers Quest as well but if you knew what to prepare for they weren't that bad. The game I had that made me throw the controller the most was Abadox. Double Dragon had some tough spots too but not impossible. All NES games had patterns. Even Punch Out, the game was all patterns.

Great video, it would be more entertaining to watch you beat the bosses without the pause glitch. Having said that, I get the whole point if the video is to show an easier way to beat a hard game. Keep up the good work 👏
