Mega Man X, Ep. 09-X: The Hadouken

To get this power-up you MUST have collected all Maverick weapons, Energy Sub-Tanks and Heart Tanks, as well as each body part. Certainly after all these years this is rather common knowledge, but it never hurts to reiterate.
You must traverse through the stage as you normally would, and contrary to common belief, it DOES NOT matter if you get damaged while doing this; the deal is to reach the end of the stage with a full lifebar. Another fact regarding this secret is that you DON'T need to redo the stage after reaching the end of it, meaning you don't have to escape and needlessly go through it anew for the trick to take effect--it will, but it certainly isn't necessary. You can easily just reach the end of the stage and fall off the chasm and continue from then on. Lastly, it is erroneously thought that for the capsule to appear you have to repeat the process a number of five times; in essence, only three repeats are required after the first for it to appear.
The Hadouken fireball is literally the strongest power-up offered in the game, which can easily destroy anything (except Sigma's final form) with one single blow. To perform it all you have to do is press the D-Pad in a quarter circle motion towards the direction the enemy is positioned followed by Y; in other words: ↓ ↘ → Y (vice-versa if facing left).
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must keep a full lifebar in order to successfully perform the Hadouken. Lastly, passwords won't save this power-up, which means you'll have to redo the whole thing if you restart the game.
PS: The Snes9x has problems recording multiple transparencies.

I remember first hearing about the Hadouken, I had heard about it from a friend at elementry school. I thought he was lying, but after doing the procedure to "unlock" the special art. It was really good to have, a instant destroy attack. But how I did it was after getting the energy tank at the top of the cliff before you enter Armadillo's chamber I finished the stage and beamed out. I would redo the stage until the secret capsule appeared, only thing annoying was it worked only at full health.

Easter egg. But one could argue that X does have a soul given the way he is, and his constant evolution. And 8 times? I'm sure after the fifth try the capsule would have appeared. But I don't blame you, I used to go through the whole stage, use the Escape Unit and repeat the whole process 5 times instead of doing it like I show in the video.

First time I learned about it was similar to yours, and I actually redid the whole stage, too in order to get the fireball. Those were the days. Shame the "trick" isn't saved through passwords...

Sadly, no: MMX Collections has essentially ports of the original games, meaning everything is as it was with the originals. There's a bit of a controversy regarding it because allegedly all games were meant to be revised, as well as with additional content, but Capcom, supposedly, decided against it at the last minute to not hurt their future MMX video game sales (which meant Maverick Hunter X at the time).

to get the hadouken you have to have all the heart pieces and the full armor of that there is a well so I got right the first time

I know! I was so fucking pissed off when I started playing my Mega Man X collection the day after I got the The Hadoken Fireball AND IT WASN'T THERE!!After all that extra effort I couldn't keep it??We all the same question right??WTF CAPCOM??
