Mega Man Zero - Departure (remix)

This used to sound pretty different. Halfway through I decided to experiment and go for a more rock-ish sound, despite the BPM being pretty high. As a result, this is gonna sound a bit different from my usual stuff. I didn't go completely nuts and rebuild everything I'd already done to it though, so the approach ended up a tad unfocused. I hope you'll enjoy it all the same. I particularly enjoy the solos in this one.

Great remix! I really like the low-key sound you went with for the first minute and a half, letting it build over time. The bit at 2:05 hit me with the same chill the original did with that same riff, and you definitely captured the lonely feel of the piece well! The lone warrior, injured and weary, trudges on. This is definitely something different from you. I feel like the original actually goes harder, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The drums aren't crazy aggro, though, so it would sound more at home in an actual video game as BGM...just in time for the release of the new zero collection. :P

The drums are actually something I'm pretty unhappy with in this mix as I feel they hit way too hard. Toning them down just made them feel nonexistent instead though so I just left it alone. :I
