On Twin Peaks, I really don't think you can separate Lynch and Frost. He gets a lot of blame for season 2 with Lynch's absense, but he was busy working on his own movie, Storyville, for basically the whole season and working out of his office on both simultaneously, which I honestly think has as much to do with it as Lynch stepping back from writing and directing. And it's not like Lynch wasn't involved on the creative side, he still gave plenty of script notes and was even involved with casting while he was on set as Cole. And season 1 was absolutely a shared effort by both of them: Frost came up with the concept, Lynch figured out the hook, and they both pushed forward from there. Heck, the Return wouldn't even have happened without Frost. He came up with the outline for the whole season but wouldn't do anything with it unless he got Lynch involved with it too, because it was theirs. Even episode 8, the big surreal Bob episode, big parts of it were from Frost. It feels weird to push back against this in the wake of Lynch's death? But he hated whenever anyone would give him credit for the good and Frost blame for the bad, and always reaffirmed that Twin Peaks was the product of them both working together as equals, so it also feels right to continue that.

I love Garrett, but he’s so confusing sometimes lol I understand not wanting to buy a game again on a new console, especially at full price, but I’ve seen Mario Kart 8 go on sale for $30-$40 multiple times throughout the years. Bro missed out on 8 years of playing Mario Kart online with friends/most people and all the bonus DLC they put out on Switch. That was the real Mario Kart 8 experience. If you’re not the biggest Mario Kart fan I guess it’s not the biggest loss tho. But then he also said he likes that the Switch 2 joycons are black and not blue and red, but there has been a standard black joycon version of the Switch for a long time now lol You can even buy the black joycons by themselves

Always avoid launch consoles. They usually have issues, and it'll be hard to find for months anyways. They'll still release games for the OG Switch, and Switch 2 is backwards compatible. No sense in being an early adopter

On the "TikTok-ban": I mean I'm for more control for ALL social media platforms but the security angle to the "ban" is legit. I'll try to keep it kinda short here. First things first: Bytedance is a chinese company. All chinese companies past a certain size are required to have a CCP-committee in them, so essentially they are controlled by the chinese ruling party. Either the company does as the party wants or the ccp vanishes the company's board and replaces them. This means that the chinese government can essentailly control TikTok. Yet TikTok is banned in China. They have their own version called Douyin with its own algorithm. There obviously are security concerns to a foreign hostile government controlling what you get to see on their app.

Twin Peaks season 1 is amazing television, season 2 gets stinky, season 3 is legitimately unwatchable garbage. The entire dougy jones arc is so fucking terrible and boring. I think its just nintendo reading the room. in the past game consoles generation to generation were very different from appearance to their capabilities. thinking things like gb > gbc > gba / DS > DSi > 3DS / NES > SNES > N64. in those days having a modifier like 'super' or 'advanced' or whatever served to say 'its like the thing you have but color/64bit/advanced' and was clearly a new thing to the audience. in the current era special monikers have come to mean 'its basically the same thing', something like xbox one s, playstation 'pro' and instead numbers are used to denote when its an entire new thing. this goes beyond games and extends to things like phones and other tech. I think its just nintendo getting with the times, even if its boring.

Super Duper Switch? lol The Switch is Nintendo's gaming future now, so I think the naming scheme has to be kept simple. At the same time too, I don't get why people care so much about the name. Switch 2 I do not need a larger screen. I OWN A TV. My switch never leaves its dock. I have packed my Switch1 so many times to play on the go but never touch it. Because- it is too big and clunky to be a handheld. The 3DS was perfect size. That was ALWAYS in my pocket. I played my 3DS everywhere. Nintendo needs a home console & a pocket sized portable. This weird tablet thing is too clunky. Like this winded bigass comment.

hardly.. there were many games released for the 3ds when they were overlapping, many of them made/published by nintendo. did you forget about the mainline pokemon games that released or the 3ds post-switch-launch? there was also a lot of people questioning nintendos weird release of luigis mansion on 3ds rather than releasing it as a port for the switch. this is just false. pokemon, luigis mansion, metroid, fire emblem, kirby, mario&luigi all had releases post switch launch and thats just games from nintendo themselves and just in north america at that.
