I've tried some knock offs and no jerkbait can compete with the vision 110 or the pointer. That being said you bring up a valid point about cost and when a knock off has it's use.

I bought the unpainted blanks and painted my own. Nothing wrong with them, and you can tweek them a fair bit so they swim how you want them. Being semi -retired, the painting is an excellent way to spend a few hours.

In Canada the 110 is $30-$40 a bait! I’d love to try one but I can’t fathom spending that much on one jerkbait lol. Plus where I live, any lure with treble hooks get hung up pretty easily.

Joe: I'm with you... Megabass is the top of the line in terms of quality, attention to detail, performance and true works of art! Unfortunately, I'm not a millionaire so cost, performance, value are important too. I buy the best I can afford so your channel is very is very important and provide alternative options. Yes, the stuff from China is often a hit or miss with long delivery times but there are deals out there that compensate for the shortcomings. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Your point about fishing around snags feels so true to me, snobs up here often make fun of my cheap aliexpress lures, and wire leaders (in case of pike, all the waters near me have pike so i use a leader no matter what I am fishing) but the waters I fish are all waters in urban areas, and if you know places like that you know people just chuck random crap into those, especially when I fish for Perch which involves alot of jigging at the bottom, do I really want to loose 15 bucks each trip, no not really, If I was fishing on a much less snaggy area I would use nicer equipment, like when i fish off shore, or go to bigger lakes, but no way I am casting my pike cast fly that was 30 bucks into a snag infested water, no way in hell haha.

OK long one here. until you fish it it is almost mute. Both look very good and despite they rise and sit differently they both will catch fish. I would almost bet they both came from China or ROC or something. It's like Shimano rods now coming form China (I own a few) Anyways price is always a killer. I just did kind of the same thing with Senkos vs Stick-os from Bass pro Shops. I can't justify the price difference when both seem to catch me the same amount of fish. Good video as usual, get well. Oh, FYI I picked up ear muffs the other day (despite thinkin i'd look goofy with them) And I used them yesterday out at the lake and THANK GOD I did lol. normally I get a headache from my ears getting cold but not yesterday. I was able to sit out in 45 degree air temps and feel perfectly comfortable. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Bill Miller I wore my muffs today. I did fish the lure today too. It works very well different but like you say-no worries about it catching fish although none today. I did catch a 1.25 lb beast of a crappie on a Bomber A though. Wait til you see this thing!

Looks like it no longer listed online. I think I found one when I was at West Virginia last summer. Do they make them in different sizes? The one I found is 3/4 ounce and over 5 inches long. And how does the rattles compare to the megabass? I think mine's is too loud but I have no megabass to compare with.

Had one of the copies for a while and never fished it, just took it out this morning and caught an 80cm barra on it.. Thing is that it ripped out the middle treble from the body of the lure, probably good for smaller bass though

@@capitolbassfishing barramundi are a hard fighting fish(this one was 32 inches and over 15lbs), you can not run bass trebles for them, we usually use 4-6x strong trebles, i really like the action of this lure and have found although although alot the chinese moulds are the same the internals are not, i have had mixed luck with wlure, i found the squarebills took on water, some crankbaits didn't swim straight and some were good, i have found seaknight ones a bit more exxy around $4-$5 but so far seem a bit better quality, i have ordered some anyway and let you know how they go, if they can handle barra i think they will be perfect for bass

check out bearking jerkbaits they are $5-8 bucks but they have the closest action to a megabass 110 most of the china clones don't have tunqsten weights when bearking does. tight lines D.C

once my lakes unfreeze I'm gonna try a real Megabass 110. the clones at $2 fish great long as you don't get a defect one. And I got some custom painted by Jekyll424 on youtube. so paint job now they look just as good now, and still cheaper than one Megabass lol! That in mind I think you said it right use the clones when not sure and the real deal once you find fish/ open water.

I believe that megabass orders their blanks from China. There are a bunch of knock offs to find on the market. I have some high quality blanks that perform as well as the megabass 110.

I wouldn't touch 110s with a barge pole,ridiculous prices.I have literally caught dozens upon dozens of salmon and sea trout on my favourite called the Fladen Conrad in gold and orange from around late 90's,onward I have searched everywhere for them since but can't find the ones I used,the action and look was lethal,all for 250 English pennies😉😉🐟🐟🎣🎣

I`m a big fan of suspending action and that`s kind of hard for those cheaper baits manufactures to get properly done. But hell yeah, I will order some of those. for 1.99 it`s great. Wish I could find some like the small Japanese dog walking baits, like the one from Zip baits, Lucky Craft, Jackall... I will check the site.

That knockoff isn't really suspending its slow floating so in really cold water when the fish are lethargic I bet the 110 out performs it, as the advantage is to have the bait suspended where the fish are suspending. If you add heavier hooks you can get it to suspend. Also if it doesn't have the ball bearings it won't cast as far as the 110. It would be a good bait to buy to throw in areas first where you might get snagged and don't care to lose it as much. For 25 dollars people have commented before on this but I will say it again the hooks on the 110 are very fragile and break easy and really should be better quality.

The only thing that bothers me is the manufacture's are farming their products designs to be made in China where they can save money and increase their profit margin selling to us at much higher prices. But, if we try to save money by doing the same, we are not patriotic. When the big boys decide to have their products made here, I’ll buy them at higher costs to support them. If they want to have them made overseas, I’ll not support them. It’s like the pot calling the kettle black in my opinion.
